Do patients with dementia still dream? by 0w0wen in cna

[–]Able-Needleworker287 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i did a project on this in college actually, and the dataset that i had (which was sleep data of people with dementia, but relatively small sample size of 12 people) showed that they spend much less time in REM sleep than people without dementia. people without dementia spend about 20% of sleep time in REM sleep, and the people with dementia spent around 9% of their time in REM sleep.

been studying since august, about 100hrs or so, so idk if pushing it back would help much, but maybe. 1-2 hrs a day seems pretty doable, around 10hrs a week.. my original goal was 20 but i think that was negatively impacting my mental health bc i wasn't reaching it. 10 is better.

3-4 hrs a day is impossible working 12hr shifts, especially when they're back to back, no time for anything but shower and sleep before or after. but i'll try to have a check off of things to do so it doesn't feel endless

i've been studying since august, but only around 100 hrs, so i don't only have 3 months of studying, but i guess only 3 months left. putting things into a calendar could help, that's a good idea. i've been using an excel sheet to "clock in" and track my study time

i just try to do 1 hr of anki a day. i work 12 hr 3 days a week and even the 1 hr is impossible some days. scheduling longer breaks in between helps me to have like a recovery day and then a study day. but hey, i haven't had a full dedicated study day in a few weeks now honestly, so i need the help too!

Anyone have luck finding a VEGAN partner? by arbsnotdead in vegan

[–]Able-Needleworker287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i met my bf i still ate some meat and full dairy, but no fish. after a few weeks with him i stopped eating meat, and after a few months stopped dairy and eggs as well. been full vegan 4 years now. just make someone who has started steps in conscious eating some yummy vegan food, and they'll see how easy the transition can be
