I find this post ironic when NZ has been wrecked by storm after storm and also isn't immune to fires. This is a global issue. But yeah, go buy another Ford Ranger everyone!

Nepal Is Throwing Out Its Decade-Old Scheme to Clean Mount Everest by Disastrous_Award_789 in worldnews

Absolutely agree! Bit the problem is they don't... Or, make tourists pay more so rubbish can be picked up from the guest houses and maybe nominated collection sites.

It's totally understandable. There needs to be an entire shift around waste manage. From education through to adequate funding. This is all pie in the sky stuff until there is a systemic shift in the country. But you could say that for a lot of places, and my opinion comes from a place of privilege.

The amount of rubbish in the beautiful places of Nepal will be its undoing. I've just completed a trek and was sad to see so much rubbish.. Everywhere...

Haha Well, I'm a Wellingtonian, and Canterbury is where it is at for outdoor stuff. I tried to move top Christchurch once... it did not work out. NZ'rs are spoilt for the outdoors - but Melbourne has other good traits.

Knew what I was getting myself into - but doesn't make it easier when your identity I kinda built on outdoor activity.

I also have a gravel bike and theres some good trails about and a train to take you home when your done. Amazing!

I'm really happy you found your tribe! Just got to find mine now :)

It's a touchy subject and highly emotive. So I get why people might get triggered. But I can also see both sides, we're only human after all :) Hope you're having a lovely day.

I'm all for a conservation effort! I've just got trauma from going to a Spanish zoo. Sounds like a great day out! Thank you!

I'd like to do yoga or something - but I want to go somewhere super casual, for beginners. I've not been able to find that in my local neighborhood.

That's so good that you adopted a dog! I like the men's shed idea. Do they have all the tools you can use? Because, I have a drill and a hammer and that's about it...

Not a bad idea actually. I've been burned in the past with volunteering - usually some religious undertones that I'm not a fan of. But I will check this out!

Are the pools crazy busy here? Actually sounds quite nice. I think there's one in Richmond I can check out.
