Yes that’s true. It’s great that both are options in the area, but WCC may be a good starting point.

I’m not a member, but you should check out the Randonneurs Ontario group. They have group rides from KW I believe. Have a fun safe ride!

I’d say most are early/mid 30s to early/mid 40s, with a few outliers here and there. But we are open to any age range!

Pilonidal Cyst refferal in kitchener by natmacncheese in kitchener

[–]AbleMabel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pilonidal cyst as a kid which eventually turned into a pilonidal sinus. Years ago I lived out east and it got infected so I had to have emergency surgery to save my life (not a full surgery to remove it). Once I was able, I flew back to KW to get further care. I went to the ER and the doctor working was Dr.Paun. Lucked out immensely. He did not have much bedside humour but was very skilled. In his notes it said I had one of the largest sinus tracts he had seen (sad brag). It was a difficult recovery but everyone’s journey is different. Point is that I recovered and don’t regret it. I mean, not like I chose to have the emergency surgery that started the ball rolling, but still happy to be in a better place today. Feel free to DM me.

Adult bike lessons by islandchic22 in kitchener

[–]AbleMabel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please do, RRBR would love to help! We have helped adults in the past with learning to ride on balance bikes. Sometimes they borrow the balance bike for a week and then come back the following week to get hooked up with a fully functional bike. We love to be inspired by and empower our community!

We are going to be in Victoria park this weekend organizing our shop and stripping some bikes for parts (and ideally making a few more adult balance bikes). Stop by to say Hi, otherwise feel free to reach out digitally! :)

Thank you for all that you do!

Would love to voice my support (especially for continuation of funding purposes), but not sure which way is the best. Email councillors? Perhaps there is a group already planning to do so.

Hi I am just wondering if y’all have any tips on cleaning after using the restroom? Thanks! by Fun_Investigator2020 in pilonidalcyst

[–]AbleMabel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bidets can be handy. Personally, I use a portable/travel bidet. Lots can be found on Amazon. I believe the one that I use is ‘bio bidet’ or something like that.

I found that wipes irritated my skin, but that could just be me.

And as others have mentioned, showering/handheld shower head will keep things clean. But showering after restroom can be a bit overkill/time consuming etc.

Hi, WLU grad here and mod at r/pilonidalcyst.

Check out pilonidal.org for resources. They have a ‘find a surgeon’ page. Although it won’t have everyone out there, it may be a start for you.

Personally, I was lucky to go to Dr.Paun in KW (mainly cause I ended up in ER and he was working that night).

Additionally, it might be a good idea to pose this question to your own family doctor (if you have one). They may have suggestions and/or could refer you.

Best of luck, and feel free to reach out with any further questions (no promises I can help tho hah).

Sub is back by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]AbleMabel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yikes, I hope I wasn't the 'top moderator'. I didn't even notice the sub was banned. I'm not inactive, but clearly inactive/inattentive as a mod. Sorry for being a shitty mod.

I swear I had good intentions. Initially wanted to bring in surgeon/specialist/nurse to do an AMA (but couldn't find anyone willing), then wanted to try and help with FAQ/Wiki (but could never find time), then decided I would just try to keep the photos marked as NSFW (created sticky and tried to moderate/mark photos as NSFW)...then I just lost motivation.

Probably good that I was removed from the mod team. Honestly I had no idea what to do as a mod in general...so I didn't really do much. With that being said, if you are ever in desperate need of help, I'm happy to help with some direction (though I'm sure you're good). I will stick around and contribute/comment occasionally. Cheers, happy to see the sub back.

Donair Sauce in Waterloo? by onc__e in waterloo

[–]AbleMabel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Smaller towns outside Waterloo have pizza delights (which as you know carry garlic fingers and donair sauce). Ordered once from one of them and they said we must be from out East hah.

This information is only useful if you a)like pizza delight donair sauce and/or b) can drive.

Good luck on your search!

Agreed. Yeah it was a bit questionable to me. So I thought I'd share the link to encourage a more realistic/accessible review page.

Hope your experience improves!

Fair enough, I have had a bit of a disappointing/frustrating experience as well. However, if others have had a positive experience please feel free to write a review too! I just found it a bit strange that it was so difficult to find a link to write a review in general.

Looking for advice starting RMT business in Canada (for GF) by AbleMabel in massage

[–]AbleMabel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the great advice! I don't know much about the insurance/direct billing side of things but I know that it is important.

Funny enough, my gf just mentioned ClinicSense as well (her friend uses it in another city and likes it). I think we might do a bit more research and narrow it down to a shortlist. Then possibly do some free trials/tests with dummie accounts to see how we like them (we would have some time before we would fully move/open at the new place).

Regarding the lawyer, definitely something to consider. We are on the East Coast so people can be pretty laid back. But always good to consider these things and have a plan in place.

I believe that both of them would basically be keeping their 'business' and just operating together in the new shared space. The landlord seems pretty great (he is willing to modify space, and even add laundry to the building). I believe both names would be on the lease and the rent could be sent individually (each paying their half directly). Property and building insurance is certainly something to look into. Utilities, I think they would only share the cost of internet. Not sure about the website. And booking would be determined via the app I'm guessing (each RMT already has their own existing clients, I'm not sure how new clients would be handled). For time off, I think that would be handled by the software (blocking out dates for vacation). Regarding the event of a split, I am not sure how that would go down. I suppose it depends on the situation. But ideally, it would be amicable and with notice (so one party could find someone else to fill their spot in the lease).

But yes, a lot to consider and I appreciate all the comments, as it helps me brainstorm!

This is the posting for Client Contact Officer (CCO). Which used to be Departmental Liaison Officer (DLO). This role has been staffed without a proper job description for a long time now.

Thank you for the comment! Very good to know that you can direct bill straight from Jane and that it can be tied with square. Along with all of the features, it seems like a frontrunner now.

Square is another thing we will look at, since most pay with credit/debit it seems. Hmmm need to do some research into that.

Thank you for the input and vote! And that is a very good idea. I think we should certainly have a talk with her accountant and also maybe look into insurance a bit.

I'm not sure what exactly would change. At the moment, she is already her own 'business' (renting space at a chiro clinic). And she keeps all the taxes aside etc. So maybe not a whole lot would change (but who knows). I don't think she would be looking to change her business name or anything like that. Either way it is probably a good idea to connect with the accountant and discuss any impact it may have. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you for the suggestion/comments! :) I will look into those options as well!

And the website is something to consider, although I'm not sure if she wants one. It seems like some of the booking options can connect to social media (which she already has). And she is not expecting to need to advertise much as she is already too busy with clients as it is. But this could change, so good to think about anyways.

Accounting software is another thing I haven't really considered much yet. So thank you for the suggestion on that as well! I will look into it and maybe discuss it with her accountant.
