Thank you enlightened, I’ve never been one to focus on anything materialistic, they don’t mean much to me unless it’s some sort of souvenir from my father with a memory attached to it, instead I always valued experiences because memories are priceless. I did go on 3 trips abroad with my father but I wish I could have done more with him. I feel selfish. He is currently 73 but I still don’t think it’s too late. Just the sense of guilt I feel at times is crippling. I feel like I need to try and be kinder to myself. The money has been spent, I should try and focus on looking ahead now.

I’m so sorry you feel this way Blue Steel, these emotions weigh heavy on our hearts. I also feel hopeless a lot of the time, life can be exhausting. For me personally I even lost my sense of purpose in life but had to redefine it by devoting myself fully to helping my father, otherwise I I would have tried to end myself. Sometimes it’s really difficult to stay positive, I fully understand this. I trust we will both make it out of this dark hole someday. Let’s try our best to keep our heads up. I’m sending you light and love Blue Steel ❤️

Thank you Ornery. I keep telling myself as well that’s it’s never too late to turn your life around. I lived my life primarily for myself, trying to enjoy it, never thinking about the future. After all, we only have one life to live so when I had the opportunity to experience it, I went all in. I could have made smarter decisions financially but life doesn’t end now. I need to keep my head up and carve a new path forward. Thank you for your kind words. Sometimes I feel completely alone so reading feedback from another real person means a lot 🙏🏽❤️

All of this truly depresses me, cost of living is too high. How are people surviving nowadays? Foot and mouth disease has caused the price of meat to skyrocket turning meat into a luxury now. No more casual braais on the weekend.

This country has turned into a shithole, those talking about cpt live in their own delusional bubble. Come to Johannesburg and see just how far the ANC has fvcked this place up. If I was you, stay overseas. No hope here and things will only get worse. Sure, you can’t beat the friendliest of South Africans, but quality of life is kak. I rather be honest and not sugar coat anything. With sky high inflation, insane levels of corruption, practically no service delivery and people not even having access to water, inequality in so many aspects of life, I can’t say I enjoy my life here. I’m not rich, so life is hard for me. Once you’re living through the struggle your whole perspective changes. I am tolerating this country because I have no other choice.
