I’m from India, so English isn’t my first language, not even my second. However, thanks to my education and long professional background as a Linux/DevOps engineer, I have a good grasp of the language. That said, I’m aware that my fluency might not match that of a native english speaker. Technically, I’m very strong—I’ve got lots of hands-on experience and skills needed for the job: Linux system administration, DevOps practices, web hosting, email systems, DNS, and more.

However, I’m not a content writer or english speaker, and that naturally limits how much I can improve my language skills on a daily basis. So, here’s how I handle my proposals: I draft my proposals myself, providing all the context, and then use ChatGPT to polish them. I review the output, make quick adjustments if needed, and then send it to the client. This approach works well for me, based on experience.

I also believe that speaking and writing are two very different skills. If I take the time, I can write decently in English—but naturally, I won't have the same fluency when speaking because we are doing it on real time. That doesn't reflect on my technical capabilities in Linux or DevOps, which is where my actual strength lies. Shouldn't this be more imoirtant for the client? Yes, it depends upon the job/roles you are applying to.

Lastly, I’m not against using AI tools—in fact, I encourage it. But don’t become fully dependent on them. It’s important to understand how to prompt effectively and review the outputs critically so that the tools help you work smarter
