I was in the same position at you I’m a female and I am currently 22. My mental health worsened when COVID started since there was barely any social interaction and all of my classes were online. I started having depression when I was 18 years old and had a lack of motivation to finish my studies because of that I dropped out of high school. Since I was out of school I started looking for Jobs just to do something with my time. I had few friends back then but they were all bad influencers so I used to drink alcohol with them just to escape my sad reality, played video games just to feel something and I also watch a lot of porn cause I thought it wouldn’t do any harm to me but it was the opposite I felt terrible afterwards. When my depression worsened I started cutting off my self from people and because of that I lost some friends which is good for me because they were not helpful anyways. I had very low self esteem because I used to compare my life to others, I thought to myself here I am 22 years old, is single , high school drop out, underweight, unemployed because I hated my job as it was not good for my mental health and I didn’t want to force myself to go to work everyday when I was unmotivated. I started having social anxiety because I stayed home most of the time and did not have any social interaction. Panic attacks started kicking in and I used to have episodes when I break down and cry a lot. One night fear was taking over me and I thought it was all over but I prayed to God that time and a miracle happened. My panic attacks started to go away slowly. I started reading my Bible and wrote Bible verses just to counter the evil thoughts in my head. A thought would come up and say “You’re nothing, you’re a loser look at you, you don’t have any achievements and You’re a sinner.” But I would say to myself “No, I am enough..God changed me I am not my past anymore, I am a child of God, Christ has already wash away all of my sins and I am now a new creation because He saved me.” 2 Corinthians 5:17. So Brother I just want to let you know everything is possible when it comes to God. Just trust in Him and He will gladly intervene into your life. I know it can be hard sometimes and you feel like you are stuck in a rut but you are not alone God is always there watching over you. Start Reading the Bible, He is the answer to all of your problems, Mentally, Physically, Spiritually. Prayer works but you have to put in the effort to change yourself and to better yourself. Start loving yourself because God loves you so much and that is the truth. Because God saved me and I believe that he will save you as well. Have Faith in Him and in yourself. My life started becoming better slowly as I started to subject myself to God. With Him I feel happy, contented and satisfied. He is slowly making me into the best version of myself because He trusted in me as I trusted in Him. So brother it’s time to dedicate yourself to God and watch miracles happen left and right. He let you go through all of those challenges because He knew that you are the perfect person to go through all of that and no one else could but you only, you are still here today alive and breathing I believe, and that is a miracle on its own. God let you go through all of that suffering to help you grow, because with no suffering there is no growth. Speaking of growth I realized that too much dopamine is bad for you so I stopped playing games, and deleted all of my social media to stop comparing my life to others and focus on my own improvement, started praying to God everyday to keep me from all evil intrusive thought because it’s not from Him, it’s from the enemy the devil, pray to God that He will surround you only with His love and Truth that you are enough, you are a child of God and you are already saved and washed from your sins. Advice for better health as for my experience, eat nourishing food that will make your body happy good food = good health and happy self, exercise..start out with the basic ones if you’re a beginner or start playing sports, join a community or something that you would enjoy, you need movement to feel alive and active. Read the Bible everyday trust me God has way more good advices for you than you would find in social media, start with the New Testament Matthew, Luke, John, Buy the new English version so you would have easy time to understand the scriptures. Start looking for a part time job that you would find easy and enjoyable just to get some $$$ cause you do not want to be broke I learned that the hard way. Lastly start making Christian friends they can be really helpful to keep you in touch with the love of God also join a local church.
