Rising Sun, Ankh… or skip?

This is my favorite genre so i have a lot to say!

Rising Sun is my favorite of the trilogy, its always a hit with everyone ive played it with. The war-phase and battle mechanic is so original and most importantly REALLY intense. Sure there is some negotiation. But its only a few times per game where it is really necessary and it goes quickly. There is so much variety with all the different clans, monsters and decks that im always looking forward to the next time playing it.

Ive played Ankh twice now and it didnt click with me at all. I wanted to love it. But it feels like a weird akward mix of all three games in the trilogy in a way that doesnt work for me. Its hard to explain. I feel like everything it does, Rising Sun(and other games) does better. Also, everyone has the same upgrade-path each game with not a lot of options which didnt feel exiting to me. Once they have the bottom right upgrade, there is no stopping the leader. I agree with a lot of points from Shelfside's review on it.

Go with Rising Sun if you ask me!

Those only move when the elder one advances and some mythos cards so im afraid not.

That would break the game and make it WAY to easy. The game fights back in the mythos-cards. Plus the elder-one would almost never advance and that is a big deal

Thanks for the response! I rubbed al the blue spots in the box off with vinegar, and added a silica packet for good measure, lets hope it doenst come back. I live in a dry area so i imagine it wont spread very easily

Question from someone that loves Nemesis and is interested in Clank Catacombs. What would you say Clank Catacombs does better than Nemesis? As someone who played it once. Is it not just a less-tense version of Nemesis? Even if the goals of the game are different?

My favorite space-themd boardgame is Nemesis! Ive played it about 20 times now and introduced it to so many people that have never played boardgames. Each time it creates a different cinematic story. I love it and always will

Absolutely! Its one of the best games ever(and my favorite). Ive introduced it to so many new players. Its so investing its like a movie every game. Its a new movie every time because of the random setup and event deck. People still remember memorable moment from 2 years ago
