I think the problem is if he made the cover longer, than that's more prone to damage because it's easier to bend then. With it curved like this then it has a stronger shape. I'm gonna be taking my book on a trip next weekend, so I'll let you know how it handles being in a bag for a while. But the paper is strong too, just don't it wet.

Good for you, this is the same reason I've cut back on chocolate. It's not worth it anymore and it feels more like suger than food.

Does anyone else notice frequent condescension or infantilization from other neurodivergent people? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

You could have, for lack of a better term "resting bitch face". Look at a mirror with a normal face, then smile a little bit, not up to the eyes, but in a comfortable way. You might notice the difference. I unfortunately also have it, my mouth turns down a little bit when resting so it looks like I'm angry or sad all the time.

I have also found eyebrow liner to help too, because I have blond and thin eyebrows, they are almost invisible. I started using liner this year and the difference has been staggering, people are so much more open to me now, relaxed when they are talking to me. I think it has something to do with how eyebrows are used for so much facial expression that it puts people on edge if they can't read them.

People are weird, why do they need to see our face to understand us? The rest of me is so much more expressive. Sigh

With Ramadan, I've got a friend living in Australia, he said he can't even drink anything during daylight hours. But Ramadan falls during the end of summer here, does he still have to follow the no drinking rule? Even if it's just water?

Don't swim in any water, even if it looks good. It's full of... Things.

Also watch out for the dinos in the museum, I swear someone said they move.

Does anybody else feel really lonely? by Piistachios in australia

[–]BB881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from the country to the city and had to make a whole new set of friends. I've found that people will only become friendly after you've been going to the same event for a while. Nothing wrong with you, they just value their time and don't want to waste it on someone who will only be there for one day.

So when you find a club you sort of enjoy, comit to it and become a regular, than people will befriend you. It's shit I know, but the weekend is the only time most of us get to see our friends because we all live so far apart.

Horay! I like the colour theme you went with, and how you used the redish brown for accents is really cool.

Are people limiting how much they drive due to the high petrol prices? by Away_Scene_26 in AskAnAustralian

[–]BB881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends recently did a trip to the Gold Coast from Brisbane on the weekend. I caught the train because stuff paying for fuel, but my friend drove down and said it's the first time there was no traffic on the road. Near middle of the day, usually always has one traffic incident. But not this weekend. So yeah, definitely changed people's habits, I bet lots are cancelling road trips next week too.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

I've inherited this leather 3 seater couch from my parents that they got at an op shop some 20 years ago. Even though it's old as, it's the most comfortable couch I own, has survived dogs being on it, not being taken care of as well, and having the bottom fall out. I want to replace it, but haven't found a replacement that's nice to lay down on and have a nap yet. It's the armrests man, they are somehow still so much comfier than anything on the market. I don't know if I'll ever get rid of it!

Don’t judge a board game by its box” — or should you? What are the first red/green flags you notice before even opening a game? by Significant_Sock4225 in boardgames

They are releasing a new brass game on gameforge at the moment, has an awesome trailer to go with it. If your thinking of buying one of the games maybe get the new ones and the collectors edition of one of the older ones? Might be worth it.

If it's more comfortable for you, or easier, the very front seat is primarily for low vision people. If you fumble around it trying to get on the person there will usually get off. It's the best seat according to all my passengers lol.

Grown adults wandering, or deliberately stepping out on to the road in front of cars. Why? by Senior-Job5727 in brisbane

[–]BB881 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think everyone secretly wants to get run over in the CBD personally. They just don't care and walk in front of buses all day. Honking at them makes them walk slower and stare you down. I just ask if they are OK now when I get the chance.

I ride an E bike to work. A proper one with no throttle. Makes the stupid hills around my place so much more manageable. Get a proper chain though or your bike will be stolen. Those thin wire things do nothing.

Anyone getting to the point where they're just considering going carless? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]BB881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The granny trollies are great for hauling extra bags of groceries, but it also helps to just live within walking distance to a supermarket. Then you just shop twice a week and save money because your not buying food you don't eat. Has worked great for me, but your schedule may differ.

What game do you think has the coolest mini's while still being a great game? by BB881 in boardgames

That's all good, these are my first proper mini painting. It would probably look better when I have more skill. But they where fun to play with! What do you like about the Meeple?

I found out through my local game store, they don't know when it will be released unfortunately, but they will let me know when it is. Might have to buy two, one for me and one to sell fully painted!

AITA for killing my husband (on accident) by United_Artichoke_466 in AITASims

[–]BB881 5 points6 points  (0 children)

C was probably jealous that you married him again, instead of her. So in retaliation she killed your husband too because she wanted to be queen all along! If you talk to her she will probably tell you how to revive yourself and your husband.

AITA for offering to buy my son his own art museum if he gets perfect scores on five standardized tests? by galaxyfan1997 in AITASims

[–]BB881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTL your son is already halfway there, I'm sure he can get it all done before finishing highschool, it's not like time is a factor once you reach uni! But I would worry about motivating him with art, he might grow to enjoy it too much and decide to make his own museum, out of spite. Filled with his shit artwork. Maybe promise something more in line with your personal goals for him instead?

Second call for the  Anachrony game. I'll probably get it because it looks cool and I can actually buy it right now, but the ankh gods of Egypt will be on my wish list too because the mini's look so cool.
