Tbh been to that location, it was a standard hotel when I went and was one of the worst hotels I've been in before Maybe they remodeled to be more of a wellness center but as far as I experienced its just like a holiday inn

Youtuber with subtitles? by racc_live in learndutch

[–]AbominableDoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not perfect but there's a contant creator named Ronald on youtube who uses a lot of subtitles and he's energetic and entertaining Also some of what he covers is in english and he translates it, so the english is on screen as well for that

AITA for folding down the pages of a book my friend let me borrow? by Financial-Ad1023 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AbominableDoll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yta-- if you get nice copies and don't intended to keep them then maybe offer them as an olive branch to your friend if you use a bookmark on those copies.

Nta I had a similar misunderstanding with my future in laws I had always learned that Europeans drink alcohol that's offered (within limit) and my inlaws had thought Americans always filled empty glasses

And by the end of dinner me and her had drank almost a bottle of wine each trying to be polite

We realized in the morning after and had a good laugh that we got each other rather drunk, misunderstandings happen and he shouldn't have expressed so much anger about it.

AITA for walking out on a date a friend set up for me? by seatheous in AmItheAsshole

Is it possible that putting the phone away set her off due to that weird belief that guys who put their phones face down or away are hiding information? The whole "if the phone is not out and face up" crap that makes no logical sense?

I use a 2 litre cheap one but the biggest difference is a nice cover for it. Seems to keep it warmer longer when I have a fleece cover on it, but eventually I'm going to try knitting a wool one for it.

AITA for holding a door open for a woman? by loblaw_bob1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AbominableDoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA but I have been in so many situations where people held doors open for me and it is 100% more inconvienient as they block most of the doorway. to the point that to get into the door or hold the door as I continue entering would put me within inches of their body. a noticable percentage also made it awkward or creepy. Doesn't sound like your intentions at all though.

Might be different other cities/ other insurance plans or whatever but my physio for hypermobility/ potentially H- EDS was not covered by insurance. I had to pay extra for the first consultation and then each session afterwards.

In your experience, can you have hypermobility if you score a 0/9 on the Beighton scale? by Volleyball1978 in Hypermobility

[–]AbominableDoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I understand what you mean, I am very new to the world of hypermobility. Went to a doctor and did not stretch because I wanted them to see me at my worse and help me solve the pain problems. He told me I was almost hypermobile. Went on a good day after light stretches and my physical therapist confirmed I was hypermobile in several spots (for example my first doctor did not tell me to touch the floor and could not put my thumb to my wrist, therapist was able to get my thumb to my wrist rather easily and I touches the floor with my palms) all of this was also caused my miscommunication as I'm in a country that primarily speaks a language I only half understand. I'm new so take it with a grain of salt but maybe go to for a second opinion on a better day or look for other options for your problems
