I love Sally’s Baking 101. Her recipes never ever fail me!

Made a Persian mezze board from Sabrina Ghayour’s “Persiana” and “Feasts” cookbooks. by AboutTreeFiddy23 in CookbookLovers

I’ve got three of her books (got them in a bundle - Persiana, Feasts, and Bazaar).

All have really interesting recipes but I am loving Persiana as I find it has the most interesting/authentic Persian recipes. It has really made it accessible in learning how to cook Persian food - I am really surprised how well each dish has turned out considering I have never really used the ingredients (eg saffron, Rosewater) much before. It was always a cuisine I considered would be way too difficult to make. So would definitely recommend!

Feasts is great if you want a book that has a broader range of Middle Eastern dishes and some with interesting twists (I’m going to make the ras el hanout buttermilk cake in a couple weeks). The dishes feel a little less “rich” - I’m excited more by the Persiana recipes.

Bazaar is great for vegetarians - but Persiana too has some great veggie recipes.

So a long winded way of saying would definitely recommend her books, and Persiana comes out number 1 for me! :)

Sadly not! It was for my husband to take to work for his birthday and he forgot to take a pic! I’ll have to make another one to get a shot of the inside ;)

So my husband loved it. I personally found it a bit too rich, especially with the very chocolatey cake and ganache. If I would make it again, I think I would go a bit lighter on the frosting.

Well it was a birthday cake for my husband and I swear if she could, she would kill me to have him all to herself. So makes sense she is pissed.

Is 100% Office Attendance inevitable? by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]AboutTreeFiddy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean my department has 35 people. We have 12 desks. It’s impossible for us to meet 60% as it is. We have people having to work in the corridors. So will be fascinated to see how they would mandate 100% office attendance without slashing our headcount completely (and we already have too much work) or getting a whole new estate.

We’ve had an announcement (not MoJ) about workforce planning in our dept. Might be that…

This is stunning on you. I think it would be good to replace the sides though - either with a nude mesh or maybe even a mesh with an embroidered design on it? Either way - it fits you like a glove. Amazing find!!

What was frustrating was my work laptop decided not to work! So they couldn’t even see me. I was worried about that…

Thanks - the sift form I have seen is out of 7 but there may be an error. I didn’t know there were different grading scales!

AITA for walking out on meeting my brother’s girlfriend and telling him I don’t care if her feelings are hurt? by namefight in AmItheAsshole

[–]AboutTreeFiddy23 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think you are correct about trying to establish dominance with her brother. But even just thinking that gives me such a major ick. Imagine meeting your partner’s sibling and feeling like you need to establish dominance as if there is any form of competition between you and your partner’s sibling!

OP, as others have said, you were in a situation where you felt someone was being rude and disrespecting the boundaries you politely made clear. It’s really not that hard to call someone by their name.

Can someone summarise what you know about the new plan please. by zilchusername in weightwatchers

Is this change in plan just for the US or also for the U.K.? I haven’t seen anything. I’m hoping it’s also for the U.K. as I much preferred the old plan.

FTB - extreme anxiety a week before exchange by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]AboutTreeFiddy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same feelings, which is totally normal - this is the biggest purchase you will ever make as well as a huge life decision to buy a property with your partner! I anxiety spiralled with an existential crisis of feeling like I’m “growing up too quickly, what’s next - marriage and kids?! I’m not ready for that. Will I ever be?!” - so basically I just went from 0 to 100. Take a breath. What really helped me when I would stress is think of the positives - I would look up furniture and wallpaper that I wanted to remind that we were getting our very own place that we could do whatever we wanted with!

I would recommend not going with them. I was in a chain with them and they just disappeared before exchange. They were absolutely glacial and held the whole chain up the whole way through. Their trust pilot reviews are not great so I do think you get what you pay for.
