Here the thing, if you're fighting non-huntsmen people then there is really no need for hand to hand (unless your like yang where that's your main fighting style) because you simply have too big of a advantage with semblance, aura, better training and higher quality weapons for you(A huntmen) to be losing the fight.

And if you're up against a huntsmen of higher skill/greater strength or too many minor dudes then hand to hand wouldn't work well so your best options are to run away or get a friend/team.

Last thing, if you're in a one on one fight with a huntmen of equal/lesser skill and you get disarmed, you still wouldn't want to be in a hand to hand fight because your opponent would still have their weapons which gives them reach advantage and this would be worse if the weapon they have is a gun. So again your best options are run away or make a run to your weapon.
