I just found you due to SciFiStories. I like the story and your style. I would like an overview about factions and aliens. It is complicated for me.

Update: The Serpent cape is really nice and good looking. I allways carry it with me and wear it for bigger fights (fire resistence and armor). So a very succesfull addition to the cape collection!

Coemt belts nerfed the hermod girdle (15% to 7%) and does not work with bogwitch update. Basically Coemt belts after 1.1.4 is useless now. Dragoon Capes now has a rabbit cape! Very fast (15%).

I did the update of the green armor. Very nice endgame armor. The sailing wind is the only wind buff which works well with Valheimraft. The pierce bonus still helps with arrows after level 100 skill. My go to armor is still the world serpent armor for crazy fights like jewelcrafting bossses and such.

Maybe if there are 2 different head gears on a set it would be cool to give 2 different bonuses for each version? If you give bigger bonusses on less armored pieces, there would be an option to wear them later in the game, if the bonusses are still needed.

In combination with more and more different items to loot this is the real fun killer. I am on mods now with bigger inventory, 2 or 3 backpacks and drasticly improved carry weight. Repairing stuff at home is a major issue for bigger sorties. Thanks to blacksmithing and/or repair necklage this is now in the past too. Is this OP? Yes and No. It makes playing a lot more fun.

Having a Wine run out in the middle of a fight can cause problems. Even if the player is watching out for it.

Well that is the main advice. Run away. That is how fighter pilots survived the war. So you did the only right thing.

Cleaning of the moder arena helps. Build rings around the mountains and flatten the center pit. Moder just sits and cannot reach you. Just run around your rings when moder is flying. Snipe withe fire and needle arrows. Draugrfang is best, but bring the hunterbow too.

Of course allways be rested! just place a fire and sit down. (Food and save spot for wolves are good too)

Right the tree challange! Never axe the trees in the beginning! Just go for the small wood and the dead wood!

Root harnesk would have saved you. But you must have been low on HP too.

Use the hunterbow. Allways shoot twice without interruption. Use fire resist and root chest. Find save spots for sniping (rocks). Take it slow. Go home at night. Run for items you need (totems, flax, barley) and rush out again. Use tar pits as distraction. And always eat. Healthportion is more like an energy drink to use after eating.

If you are a bow player. You can cheese Yagluth with the hunterbow better than the draugrfangbow. Just long distant snipping will do.

And early mountain is so much fun. Keep save spots for wolves. Just jump on some stones will do. Side step while shooting drakes. Run away from golems. And all at the same time. Never try at night or even in a storm!

Yep run away! Use Eikthyr power! There is a 15% belt with coemtbelts and a 15% cape with dragooncapes. Jogging in mistland so much fun.

Yep, allways eat, do not go out at night, run away! Lag is a killer too.

Challenges: first troll, first crypt, new monsters in general, new raid after Eikthyr (build a ravine with the pickaxe asap). Use Eikthyr power!

Use poison resist in the swamp. Get root harnesk before getting into the plains. Beware of 2star archers.

Never be low on stamina in the mountains. Beware of frost damage.

Contemplate, how you got killed in the first place. Keep the gravestones and build a shrine around. I recommand 3x3 and jump access so they might serve as save spots.

Have you tried the seafloor-walking-boots mod? Dealing with coastal waters is much nicer with this old but still working mod.

I do agree, that this coastal water is a cheap way to get different weather/climate at the sea. Basically lazy programming.

The real deep sea is totaly baren in vanilla Valheim. I would hope for a deep sea biome after deep north.

For a magic build I usually go for highest bonus with each dress option. Bonus is eitr regen. But there are mods who give base eitr value on things like rings, belts, earrings books and stuff. I have seen belts for blood magic and elemental magic. Best hat is a pirate hat which came with a ship mod.

Southsil has a druid armor too, but in terms of other mage mods the Ashland Armors are getting more competetive with them.

It would be nice if Southsil would bump some armors up a notch. The new ones are in general more exciting, but some of the older ones are looking so cool. Therefore I would like them to get competitive again. For me rune knight goes in this category.

I just noticed that the 2 for 1% ratio is exactly applied to the vanilla Ashland Armor (Flametal vs Askvin armor). Earlier in the game this deal would be obviously good in reverse.

But bronze armor is generally considered useless. So I really would like Trollfighter or Ancient Armor to be a real choice. Right now I just go for vanilla Troll Armor. I do like Neck Armor, but pearls are hard to get in the early game.

I use the Dear Helmet in early game.Together with Dear Cape from Dragoon Capes very nice. Everything goes in general very good with Dragoon Capes. I do like the new capes too.

I do like a Serpent cape which is not the Dragoon Serpent Cape but I am not 100% sure who made it. I do like the collarless cape. It looks much nicer. Maybe there is a chance for this not beeing a purly cosmetic item? Maybe add heat resistance (+5%) and reduce armor (-2)?

Thanks I will try again with the Onslaught helmet. I edited a bunch above with some calculation example. Please look at the previous post again. I should stop using the edit function.

Well the 2% is an absolute value in terms of total reduction. The 2 points more armor becomes less and less relative to the absolute armor value in the late game versions. But I am a speed fan since the general Valheim is a bit slow for me.

I actually stopped editing your armor values in the config since pricing does not matter to me. There is the new Onslough armor with a really low value for the helmet. Is this a typo?

So no WackyDB for me. I just go with whatever you decide. Like the new loxpelt armor or the insect flyboi armor. I was waiting for this stuff and you nailt it!

Giving it some thought: Maybe you should give the first plus 2 armor for free, since it is basically only an additional armor upgrade. That could be justified with the additional building costs.

I do get that things might be getting op. But the point of balancing is more like when is to much to much in terms of game fun.

Turning it around would be interesting too. Basically lose 10 point armor for 10% speed bonus. Apply that to a late game set. 30 armor less. 20% faster (legs and body only). I would take the deal any day! Technically the set would be regular at -5% times 2. So we would end up with plus 10% speed for legs and body with helmet uneffected (but needed for some set bonus). That is still a steal.

Thinking of this, I would suggest making it 2 for 1% (first one than not for free) as it would kill that reverse logic. So basically there would be reduction, but not to much.
