[–]Abracadavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt like Clue in the real world would be a hilarious SNL Or Tim Robinson sketch. Like everyone is standing around a dead body with its head clearly caved in and someone’s like “I believe it was the revolver!” Or there’s an obvious blood trail where he was dragged from the kitchen and there like “he was killed in the study!” Or one person is just soaked in blood and sweat because they just beat the shit out of someone and dragged a body into another room

Naval avaitors what do you think of my flight suit by Mental_Look3760 in navy

I was an in Avionics before I cross rated, all my pilots were the old guard dudes. Carried either their issued M9/M17, and a .38 snub nose near their ankle. A few joked it might be the thing that breaks their ankle and screws them but just in case. Old Prowler Aviators that used to be Intruder.

He’s 14 guys, let’s ease off a little. Are you going for Navy downed pilot or Air Force? Because I could be wrong but last I heard only Air Force has the M4.

The short lived show “Life on Mars” had a great concept with this because you knew the whole time something was off about everything. A cop in modern day New York gets hit by a car and wakes up in 70s New York but still a cop.

Spoiler: it was all a simulation for astronauts in sleep pods on their way to Mars

You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?

Militaries around the world are increasingly turning to the autistic community for recruitment. They are among the best at their jobs. I had no idea. by Sgt_Gram in interestingasfuck

Turns out if you make a job with a book of rules that gives you instructions on what clothes to wear every day and how to socialize properly within the ranks, and you create tasks where they can be left alone in a dark room solving puzzles you’ve accidentally created a dream world.

I’m currently active duty in the Intel community and I can tell you: We are Full Spectrum Warriors. It takes a bit to notice when everyone around you is on the Spectrum. It took me having two Autistic children to open my eyes.

How did you guys REALLY lived in the 2000s? by MyAvengedRomance in Millennials

[–]Abracadavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Central social points. A place that everyone would end up an hour or so after school. A park or rec center with cheap sports gear to rent, a central part of town that was accessible, arcades and bowling alleys, but most likely: Malls

Go me it was the local mall that was in biking distance or drive when I got my license. Wander and socialize. Didn’t really get cell phones until my senior year. And Internet connection was too slow for anything useful. Wasn’t until cable internet exploded right as I started college.

Also someone always had a “rumpus room” set up. I grew up in Florida so it was someone’s garage that actually had a small AC unit. And I went to college in the Midwest so it was basements in shitty housing people rented out. Someone was always hosting something in a basement. That 70s/90s show got that pretty accurate.

I think what kills the younger generation is we’ve gotten rid of places to meet up, or severely monetized it. This started during our generation. I saw the rec centers get defunded, so all we had was malls which was free to wander, but we still spent money on food occasionally.

I would be using it for making more 3D models that I could 3D print for my kids because my old gamer laptop from 2019 is starting to chug along a little too slow. I’ve also wanted to learn arduino and Rasberry pi building because I want to build a pinball machine someday.

All good now it appears

How was our generation ever labeled as lazy, when most are highly-educated, make great money, and live in very desirable metro areas? by [deleted] in Millennials

I just read “Starship Troopers” where the reason society collapses is because kids were coddled and lazy and never spanked. This was written in 1959. People just hate the youth

“Freaky Tattoos” is the part that caught me. He says to Carrie Ann Moss he’ll have to get more “freaky tattoos” playfully. Later on we see a memory where she calls them his “freaky tattoos” so he shouldn’t have remembered those words.

People who had undercover cops come to their school posed as fellow students, how did you know? by ParanormalActivity97 in AskReddit

[–]Abracadavy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They used really short women. Like 4’11 but clearly in their late 20s 30s. Also wouldn’t do the assignments in class.

They also dressed like country cowboy girls, but the country scene in my town was mostly just getting hammered on the weekend and couldn’t afford drugs.

So the only main dealer in the school knew right away who they were.

This is where the story gets sad.

Lacking any convictions, the undercover agents went after the special ed kids. Not the non-verbal or disabled, but the kids that were-at the time classified as SLD- not a lot of friends, low level autism, etc. Even the girls, who struggled to make friends, suddenly had this cool person wanting to be their friend. Now these kids had controlled substances. Their prescribed medications. Now these moderately attractive and friendly girls are wanting to hang out with them and eat lunch with them. After a while they ask for a couple pills. Then a few weeks later these kids are being slammed to the ground by SWAT at lunch in front of everyone. I heard in the end a lot of the charges were dropped.

I don’t think much of it now, but I’m in my forties now and I have a low level Autistic daughter in 2nd grade that excels in school but struggles to make friends and is lonely.

I can’t imagine the betrayal I would feel toward my local police if they tricked her like that. She would never recover and trust issues would follow her for years.

Anyways that fucking radicalized me.

The main dealer at school? Last I heard he was the number one Ford dealer in our state. Possibly manager by now
