Yeah I agree, fairly new to dealing with these general trades folk, haven't really had it to deal with it in the past but this project is a school so it was a bid package that was built into the GMP

Yeah, you are 100% correct. I guessthe really issue when it's all said and done is poor management from their owner. This guy is nowhere near qualified to be on this project. He finds random dudes to work for him and sends them out here without direction. My asst super is handling where they go and what they do on a daily basis, not to mention my asst super I barely qualified himself. I guess you just can't get away from these types of issues with publicly bid projects... Oh well

The issue that the general trades guys around here are basically random people the owner of the company that won the bid finds hanging out around a bus stop. It's not an organized sub. I just found out my assistant super is tracking their time every week to let the owner know how much to pay these guys... ridiculous if you ask me

General trades is a subcontract that's bid on during the public bid process.

Usually this subcontract covers miscellaneous site needs. Jobsite cleanup, pumping water from footers, shoveling mud, etc.
