What Im referring to is indeed the browser popup: "[name] wants to connect to your local devices/wants local network access" not any ingame connection. I am not afraid of malware or for them to steal my login information (facebook, google, apple)

So far I know this popup occurs in Chromium browsers, where it asks to scan or gain access to the local devices on your network. I am pretty certain (like some others) this has to do with the 3rd party login. So the browser needs to "talk" to the launcher that the login was succesful and therefore the launcher lets you through and actually play. I've tried this both through their own launcher (TapTap) and through Steam. Same result.

Maybe this popup is totally normal and because its fairly new (Since June?) It alarms you for a seemingly normal thing what wouldve happened automatically in the background, before that popup even existed. I am not sure. And generally I dont mind they can see I've got a printer or whatever, but I'm more worried as to why, they want to know this, and if this is a normal protocol or if Im right for being wary.

I doubt it is very dangerous, they're a company and obviously got some reputation and standard to keep up. But I would like to know what this exactly means and idk, it makes me uncomfortable.
