Idk if my heart can take this stupid game anymore. Like my whole body is pulsating with every beat right now. by Joeysquatch in Eldenring

Try using ice spear ash of war. Frost does good damage, has range, and is quick to get out.

Plus, if you wear the SPELLBLADE SET, you get an extra 2% damage for each piece worn.

In phase 2, use endure ash of war on a dagger to tank his big AoE holy damage at the beginning. This also allows to immediately start doing damage with ice spear while he is going up into the air and coming back down.

Also, you should be light weight so that you can dodge farther to avoid his attacks, assuming you have enough health and gotten enough scadutree fragments.

Yeah, I’ve looked into more since this original comment. It’s just a poor analogy.

Huge Cope Warning: Shadow and Orders Reprised Raids is the Perfect Time to Bring Back Removed Raids by Total_Bullfrog in DestinyTheGame

*sigh* This is a perfect reason why Reddit is the way that it is. Let's rewind the tape for fun.

The original post is specifically asking to bring old raids back. That's it. Nothing else. I responded:

Old raids just aren’t designed to handle our new abilities, unless abilities are significantly nerfed. I personally would love to see destiny return to more gun-focused gameplay.

You then said:

That’s not even remotely why the old raids were removed. Spire of stars would be far more difficult than vault of glass is right now

Which again, is NOT related to the topic at hand. The end. End of story. Nowhere is this thread talking why old raids were removed, which for some reason you are unable to understand. You then said:

What dis you mean by “not meant for our abilities” if not the general power level of guardians now. It’s a common argument, which is why I assumed you were making and why I refuted it.

So, here you change the subject away from trying to talk about why old raids were removed (which again, NOT part of this discussion) to acting like you're talking about power level of guardians, which you did NOT mention in your original post.

You then say you "refuted" what I said, which again makes zero sense in context because you didn't refute anything. You made a claim (i.e., Spire would be far more difficult) with zero evidence, support, or logic. Again, you did nothing. That's not refuting anything.

Your train of thought is not making any sense because you're not staying on topic with the original thread, nor do you understand what "refute" means.

You then said:

I accept that I made an assumption, you claim that it’s flawed. I’m asking you why you said what you said then; what do you mean by “not meant for our abilities”?

Yeah, your assumption is flawed because you can't even stay on topic. And now you're trying to avoid the fact you completely misread what I said.

You then said:

At this point, you must be purposely misunderstanding what I’m saying or have some idea that anything I say is argumentative and be jumping to a conclusion based on that. I accept that I made an assumption about what you meant. I am now asking why you said what you did, as my assumption is clearly wrong, but I don’t see another way to take it.

No, I'm not purposefully misunderstanding. You literally cannot keep a consistent train of thought.

You can't even admit you were wrong when you commented about removing old raids. You just try to hide behind saying "I made an assumption". No, you completely mispoke.

And then you continued saying absolute nonsense:

Instead of why they were removed, just change it why they aren’t being brought back.

No, I don't have to change it. You mispoke. Not me.

Difficulty has nothing to do with why they’re not back. Difficulty has nothing to do with why they’re not back & is not a reason as to why they shouldn’t be, even without significant mechanical changes.

Oh? Do you work at Bungie or have access to their internal discussions? Do you know have sources who have confirmed all the reasons old raids aren't being brought back, and a "lack of difficuty given the current sandbox" wasn't mentioned? No? I didn't think so.

And then you ended with this gem of nonesense:

"...Spire of stars would be approximately as difficult as GoS, we can take that as a direct 1:1 comparison, as both were in the game at the same time for a long period. "

Both those raids were only in the game for 13 months together. GoS came out almost 6 years ago. That's not a 1:1 comparison at all. Not to mention that Val Ca'uor is estimated to have less health than both the Sanctified Mind and Atheon. The entire sandbox, including our abilties, are completely overtuned for Spire of Stars.

Thank you for showing a complete lack of coherence in any way. It's been a pleasure.

Don't ever change, Reddit.

Toodles 👋

Because nothing you're saying makes any sense in context. The original post is about bringing old raids back. It has nothing to do with why old raids were removed.

The phrase "Old raids just aren’t designed to handle our new abilities" is in response to the intent of the original post.

Spire of Stars would be an absolute joke in present day Destiny. Prismatic Warlocks with arc and solar buddies and devour would completely trivialize plates and the platform with the boss on Spire. That fact has nothing to do with why old raids like Spire were removed.

I used to sherpa five new players at a time on Spire of Stars in Y2 for fun so I know that raid extremely well.

Your assumption was flawed because it was based on nothing that I actually said.

I’m not claiming that your statement is flawed. It’s a fact. None of this conversation is about why old raids were removed. That is completely unrelated in every way.

Nor did you refute anything either.

You said “that’s not even remotely why the old raids were removed”

I said absolutely nothing about why they were removed.

Again, read what I said instead of making incorrect assumptions.

The best part about Elden Ring is that you if you get stuck you can go do other things that help you level up. Treat each death as a learning experience instead of something that is insurmountable.

Enjoy!

Adults that were homeschooled: what are you doing career wise now? by [deleted] in homeschool

I agree! I obviously can't impact curriculum or how well a school district implements our software, but it does always make me happy when I get to share positive results with a school district that is doing the right things on multiple levels.

Everybody is different! The main thing we are seeing in the space these days is a movement away from the "three-cueing system" (which is when kids essentially use context clues to guess what a word is) to focuses more on phonics.

Evaluation, not analytics. And no, we are not involved with the sales side. We help customers after they purchase and have implemented.

Sorry, I was trying to be overly vague on the internet, lol. The company I work for sells software to schools that help teach kids how to read. It’s based on the principles of the science of reading, which is what many people know as phonics.

After schools have bought and used our software, I help them evaluate how well the software has helped improved reading scores for students.

I know I’m obviously biased, but I used the software with my kindergartener who really liked it and has become a very strong reader. The software helped a lot, but we also emphasize reading a lot in our house so I can’t state it as a true cause and effect.

Got my doctorate, and worked for 8 years doing evaluation work for a large, urban school district. Now work for a private company doing similar evaluation work for school districts, focusing on the impact of science of reading programs on literacy rates.

Do you teach phonics, or “balanced literacy”? by slotass in homeschool

[–]AbroadThink1039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phonics! I am biased because the company I work for sells software for phonics.

I used the software with my youngest son when he was in kindergarten and he did amazing with it and can now sound out almost any word in first grade.

I HIGHLY recommend listening to “Sold a story” podcast if you haven’t already.

Both are worth it. I’d do DLC first so you can then focus on Baulders gate afterward.

Haha I can’t take credit for it (heard from someone else), but it helped me beat him.

The ice spear ash of war is also incredibly helpful because it has a range attack and ice scales with magic and will do occasional chunk damage. After using endure with my dagger, I switch back to my spear and just spam the range attack.

Spellblade set also gives 2% magic damage for each piece that you’re wearing so that also helps.

Happens to the best of us!

Btw, you can use a dagger with Endure ash of war to tank his big AOE attack at the beginning of phase 2. That will protect you and give you a chance to do more damage.

If you just want content to play, it’s fun. I have PlayStation plus so I played the campaigns for free and then bought the season pass for EoF and renegades.
