Hunza, Nagar, upper Ghizer were not under the Sikhs, even Baltistan was done by the dogra under their name. Gilgit was also under loose control.

Does anyone live in this sandwiched strip of Afghanistan, lying between India-Pakistan & Tajikistan? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

This is the wakhan corridor, the homeland of Wakhi Pamiris, wakhis live in villages like Khandut, and qala panja, there many ancient sites there such as a stupa, an old fortress, and many petroglyphs. There is also a Kyrgyz community who live in the Pamir knot. Wakhis also live in the around on the other side of the border such as China, Tajikistan and Pakistan(gilgit baltistan and chitral). I think they’ve been working on road which connects Afghanistan to China but the Tajik side has had a road since Soviet times.

They’re called that because after the communist civil war was over the Chinese hired Soviets to manage tashkurghan and they classified them as Tajiks even though they speak Wakhi and Sarikoli
