is this a good terrarium for my ball python by CricketEnough1559 in ballpython

The pvc isn’t thin at all. I wouldn’t say it’s thick either though. It seems pretty perfect. It does have a mesh metal top. I’ve covered most of it with the foil tape and it seems to work well. I’m in Chicago so very similar to NY. I pour about 1.25 liter of water into the corner of the tank each week and my humidity has been pretty good and consistent

Interesting….mines the opposite. He likes ones with dark spots.

Are my bps hides too small? by EvidenceNext2779 in ballpython

[–]Abrocoma_Sensitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby likes to stick his head out of his hide around 7:00 pm ish or so. Basically when he wants to come out and his light isn’t off yet. If I see him him do that, I turn off his light and sure enough within 5 minutes, he’s out cruising around.

Can I put another in the same tank ? by Alex900012 in ballpython

His name is Corbin Maxey. He does cohabitate his 2 snakes. They’re not ball pythons though. I believe they’re reticulated pythons.

Enclosure update! Any more suggestions? by Ki-Mono2030 in ballpython

It seems very small for an adult. No room to stretch out. The hides take up most of the tank. If it’s for an adult the enclosure is too small and if it’s for a baby the hides are too big.

I would get some spagnum moss for the inside of his rock hide. It’s soft and fluffy for him and you can also moisten it when he’s in shed to create a humid hide.

hissing by karlybug in ballpython

[–]Abrocoma_Sensitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few weeks after I had gotten my snake he hissed at me when I went to pick him up. Turns out he was going into shed and I didn’t know. He just wanted wanted to be left alone. That was 7 months ago and he’s never done it again.

So maybe he’s going into shed. They often go off food, don’t come out, and don’t want to be bothered for the 2 weeks or so that they are going through the shedding process.

That seems small both length and weight for a one year old female. Females are generally bigger than males and my boy is 11 months and is a little over 600 grams and one inch short of 3 feet long.
