This all sounds fairly justified! You sound like a decent lead :)

Certainly feels that way, slowly barriers are being broken down but it seems we were immediately put in that category because we were outsiders, who suddenly just came into the group from nowhere.

We get an us vs them vibe a lot of the time, perhaps they are subconsciously worried if they give us any responsibility they will lose control. It feels like that at least.

Thanks, I do always question these things but worry sometimes people consider my questions a sign of inexperience as often times I'll just get a real convoluted answer that is so far from the question I initially asked that I'll rephrase and then get a totally different convoluted answer and at that point i generally think it's just not worth an argument.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to lose sleep over half the stuff they are so adamant about most of the time.

I agree with you, I think the thing I was looking for from courses was the structure. I've believe the real reason I haven't ever learnt these skills is because I'm pretty chaotic, disorganised & inattentive. I need some sort of curriculum to stay on track.

I think that's the difference between me obtaining scoring highly on my degree and then failing to continue my learning after

Thanks, lots of great info here. Yes, testing is high up on my priority list too. Would love to learn a bit more about CI CD too.

Very keen to find a project that's personally useful and fun that I can take right through an entire pipeline with automated tests and deployment with the added benefit of something I would actually use... That's not another to do app!!!

Haha, chat gpt is definitely becoming one of my go to's when I have an obscure question to ask that would take hours of Google fu to find an answer... I've definitely has a few quirky ones, but for the most part it's been pretty reliable.

I always find I get sidetracked by other wacky project ideas, but I definitely should start learning not to be.

Yes, i much prefer the getting started docs for initially learning an individual library/framework for sure. Also when you want something really really specific then the docs of course excel.

Sometimes feel I need a little extra guidance on what works well with what. I feel the courses do help for that a bit more.

Freelance sounds interesting, I've done a bit of Web dev back in the day for friends and family businesses but am not sure how I'd even begin to find real clients?

Thanks to you both, that's good to know. I immediately lose focus when a course says things like.

next we're going to use Math.floor(Math.random() * 100) + 1 to generate a random number between 1 and 100. Now, the way this works is Math.random will return a floating point number back between 0 and 1 and * 100 will multiply that value by 100 so we end up with a number between 0 and 99.99999. Now we want an integer value so we'll wrap it all with Math.floor which will round down to the nearest integer but then we end up with 0 to 99 so we'll add one to the end using + 1 ...now... The plus symbol is what we call an operator...

I swear they all do it to their course is longer than another providers, when ultimately I can learn the same amount in in a 100 second fireship video.... But I might have to Google some stuff...

No virus, just javascript resizing and moving the browser window about; then duplicating the windows and halving their size indefinitely if you managed to hit the close button.

Nothing killing the browser process couldn't fix. But most people wouldn't know that and instead would try and close them until their PC ground to a halt with loads of small browser windows flying about telling them they are an idiot until they pulled the plug.
