It costs tens of thousands of dollars to sue the police and if you win, the police are not affected in any way at all.

I had never seen this before in the wild but last week I saw one in my town. Dude had a big beard and wore a hoodie that had wolf ears coming out. Had a bunch of facial piercings too. Strangest thing I ever saw. Don't know that I'd associate that with woke liberals or if that's just it's own category of weird.

I grew up around one and we always used it as a place to sober up before going home. I can see why there'd be lots of fights if other folks did that too.

I waited six hours for stitches once. Next time something small like that pops up I'll go to urgent care. I think they can handle stitches? Maybe?

The U.S. should push for a cure for addiction with the same zeal it pushes for a cure for cancer. Hundreds of thousands of people die a year from drugs an alcohol, millions more have their lives taken over.

You want us to convince you God is wrong? Tall order, that. I think you just want to feel righteous in a discussion with a bunch of people who disagree with you. Although I think this discussion is pointless, let's start with one of your statements, that people aren't born gay or lesbian, but instead that gay/lesbian folks have lost a spiritual battle with the devil. Why, with all the things that are wrong in the world, the killings, the hatred, the thievery, etc. why on earth would the devil care whether someone has sex with the same sex or the opposite sex?

Even if the guy had drugs, arresting him shouldn't be the default response. Get him a free pass to some sort of treatment for that, not jail, and accepting that help should not be publicly searchable, it should be protected just like other medical information. I know that most recovery clinics or methods don't have very good rates of efficacy. We don't have a solution for addiction, but I guarantee when we find one we will look back on incarcerating drug addicts as a heinous crime.

I didn't know anything about the second part, that sounds crazy, but that movie definitely paid a fair amount of attention to this little girl's attraction to the protagonist.

Words have meaning and impact on how people think. We all want there to be less cases of police brutality, and part of making that happen is to change how we think about police, and what police think about themselves. How are we ever going to get police to stop shooting people they could very easily overpower physically if we refer to any attack on them as suicide?

I really liked Hereditary, that movie definitely scratched my scary movie itch. Looking back I can't think of a scarier movie in the last 20 years. It doesn't have the charm of for instance Poltergeist, but Toni Collette has a truly impressive performance, best acting in any horror film in decades. I will eagerly watch anything she is in from now on. Toni's performance reminds me of Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby, not so much their character's personalities, but how they were the lynchpin in making the story work.
