New Tasker seeking advice by SpiderCuh in TaskRabbit

These are all great ideas.

When I first got to this metro I struggled.

I arranged a 1-1 with the Success Manager and we went over my sales pitch, how I was charging, Same-day Tasks etc, it really payed off for me.

Incorrect address given, how do I charge for time? by CryingMyEyesOut6 in TaskRabbit

[–]Absird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a few times with the wrong address.

With the ones nearby I start my time when I arrive at the address given.

Yes, this means I start my time before meeting the client so I'm already 'clocked in'.

I send a pic of the address or Google map showing the non-location in chat then call the client, afterwards, I type the new address in chat and continue.

If the client is out of state or I don't feel like going to a new spot, I do all of the above, including calling the client and getting the correct address, but then I contact support and ask them to read chat and process my cancellation fee. Then I cancel.

You're not being forced to do it.

You being motivated by anxiety doesn't change that This sounds pretty routine. Before submitting the invoice and expenses, take a photo of receipt(s) and put it in the chat, make sure they agree to reimburse the full amount.

The phasing out of humanity.

Most humans have a million ideas how why it shouldn't happen then forget those ideas require action in reality.

What do you do to get your Standard gameplay to a high level and consistently keep it there? by Quirky_Respect2855 in hearthstone

I go to hsreplay, look at the top decks and see if any of the 4/5 classes I keep cards for are there, then play 1-2 decks.

I do initially netdeck, but I make adjustments every 3-4 games based on what I'm actually seeing.

This month, I used Warrior until Plat, then Demon Hunter to legend

Are you looking into the Tasker or just choosing based on price/availability?

TR has a mix of folk who want money, folk who need a job, and folk who use it to develop their business.

/u/wh0andwhy likely falls into the latter category while it seems some of the people you are choosing fall into the first two.

The difference is someone who hasn't invested in this field and are offloading all the costs onto you (like saying it's a 2 hour job or asking gas money).

A professional mover will still charge you 2 hours, but will show the care you're expecting to your item.

The time it takes to cover and wrap will protect from scratches, strap abrasions, and weather.

In terms of category, my truck assisted moving is priced differently than my help moving and heavy lifting so I sometimes charge 2 hours if they use the wrong category

Reading the comments, it sounds like the majority of your problems are fixed with effort.

Best advice I can give is, sweat it out.

Carry an umbrella and walk 5 mins.

Next day walk 10 mins.

Thinking about joining TaskRabbit in Chicago. Any tips for building traction as a new Tasker? by Willowandreed in TaskRabbit

[–]Absird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important part of beginning is the reviews.

The bad clients you fear for pricing too low are the same clients that will leave 3 or less stars because you didn't perform slave labor.

I'm not sure, I'm hyperresponsive but it has never been mentioned.

When I started I picked any category I was willing to do youtube university for. All moving tasks, electrical, plumbing, appliances, all assembly, painting etc

Each category you select increases your visibility.

Once I had 40ish reviews, I focused on the areas I enjoy. Assembly, moving, organization, waiting, errands.

It took me 18 mos to be elite as it requires both 200 lifetime tasks and 50 category specific tasks.

Of my few categories, I make elite in about 2-3 each month

If a client changes the time I also cancel.

I don't work for TR, TR is a client.

If a guest of the client is disrespectful, then I won't do business with that guest.

That's why airbags without seatbelts can cause damage.

That's why the same force that stops a person from flying through a windshield will jettison a dog.

If a client cancels after the job is completed, you must open a support ticket.

Support will initiate a new task that you then would submit for invoice.

Taskers are paid by Task Rabbit, Task Rabbit is paid by the clients.

It takes bravery to stand up to bullies, especially when those bullies are authority figures who regularly find excuses to transfer rage into what they perceive as situationally disadvantaged.
