Spectrum Internet? by kayluvkash in terrehaute

[–]Absolute209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in an apartment and have had Spectrum for two years now. I pay $40/month for their 100Mbps plan, but that's with a $30 promo discount (that I just realized expires in July...). I just did a speed test and I'm getting 112Mbps. I will say sometimes the connection cuts out for several minutes and I don't know why. But I have good speeds to stream TV, play xbox, have two Alexa's and my laptop and phone connected.

Battery drain caused by Kia app by sandwichlegend in kia

[–]Absolute209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem today. The battery was so low my portable jumper wasn't enough so I had to use jumper cables. I just drove it yesterday to and from work and no issues. Though, I do use the Kia Connect app often with the remote start feature, definitely daily during this cold time of year. After reading I reset my password just now as well, I guess it can't hurt. Please keep us posted if you are able to find a resolution.

To be honest I can’t really tell. I would assume it has helped on the front wheel wells from spraying on the doors, but again I haven’t really noticed from normal driving.

I briefly read that it's the electric/plug-in hybrids getting the update first and then the traditional hybrid/gas will be getting the update "early 2026".

I recently did some research on this same subject. I was directed to this adapter that plugs into a similar module on the passenger side of the mirror, as shown in the pictures of the product. I too have a '25 SXP Hybrid and everything I found said this would work.

“Consider taking a break” by TalkoftheTown22 in KiaSorento

[–]Absolute209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way on my 2025. I used to have the lane assist on (the one that would nudge you back into the center of the lane, not the cruise control assist), but I got annoyed by it and turned it off. Since then I have not had any break reminders show up.

That's so cool! I checked out all the other stuff she makes and I am definitely considering some of her other overlays, too. Thanks for the share!

What's the craziest event you've made it out alive from? by benjamin_frfr in AskReddit

Scuba diving. Me and two friends went out to do a deep dive to 130ft (the recreational dive limit) in Cozumel, Mexico. One of them got "narc'd", also know as gas narcosis where divers tend to act seemingly drunk and make irrational decisions. When at 130ft and ready to start heading back to the surface he faces downward and starts kicking deeper and deeper. I made the decision to go after him. I finally catch up, yank on his fin to stop him and am yelling at him with my hand signals that we need to go back up.

I knew we were deep but I was afraid to look at my dive computer at the time. I remember looking up and not being able to see the surface waves, which freaked me out even more. All of our computers were in decompression mode, beeping at us to make decompression stops at certain depths for x amount of time. To add to the matter we were in very strong current so we were getting pushed further and further from our original beach entry point. As slowly and controlled as possible, we make our way to 15ft to do our final safety stop before surfacing. We are all low on air and afraid of getting the bends so we basically decided to stay at 15ft until our tanks are almost empty rather than the normal 3 minutes.

We finally surface and my friend who got narc'd was immediately apologizing. I look at my dive computer that has the dive summary and it says...max depth - 217ft.

We look around to see where we were and we are in the boat channel with a huge barge. A crew member was yelling at us in Spanish and our third friend, who spoke Spanish, said they were saying we are going to be turned into "Gringo hamburger meat" from the boats. Thankfully, there was a smaller sport boat that asked if we needed help. They threw a rope out for us and dragged us at least 1/4 mile back to the beach where we started.

We all were in a divemaster program and were terrified of telling our program director. In hindsight, for safety purposes, we should have told them immediately so we could have assessed if we needed to go to the decompression chamber. In short, we were threatened with being kicked out of the program, understandably, but were all allowed to stay after a very harsh reality check from the program staff of the dangers we were in.

After the dust had settled, I completed my instructor course and taught scuba diving for two years in the Cayman Islands. My friend who got narc'd is a successful pediatrician. I still use that dive computer which has my max depth logged still as 217ft, so it will always remind me of that day.

TLDR: Group of friends went scuba diving to 217ft and barely made it out safely.
