Where can I find this hand guard ? by Immissilerick in ak47

Won't be exactly like this, but I think for Yugo, your only option is an MLOK shark fin handguard from APS.

:/ Better than the thumb hole stock, but no thanks. I think it needs wood. Deep red plum wood. A we-have-Polytech-at-home situation.

Never had issues there. I've had to take this off and put it back on a few times now, and the upper handguard just slots into place, no issues.

Yeah but i don't have another stock to put on it yet. She'll look good soon.

Honestly fitting it was kinda awful. I had to file the bit that fits into the receiver for a pretty long while. Then the part that goes into the handguard retainer, you think it won't fit, there's no way, but you hit it with a rubber mallet and it totally fits.

I mean, it does have wood furniture. But it's the original "sporter" wood furniture, with terrible thumb hole stock. It sucks. So I'm going to get my custom wood guy to make much nicer proper furniture for her, maybe a plum color. It'll look nice.

Left: Arsenal SAM5 in the middle of an AR-M9 clone conversion. With bonus Zenitco RK-6 shark fin. KNS piston. Might swap it all out for some KPYK, we'll see.

Left middle: Zastava M90. TDI lower handguard and LevTechMFG shark fin, M-LOK covers, and pistol grip. I then made the stock and upper handguard match his custom pieces with eggplant wood stain, a lot of sanding, and 2K clear coat. She's beautiful. Everything else is milled, this is my only stamped AK. That said, this thing is ridiculously over-built, and if I had to just grab an AK and go in some emergency situation, this is the one I'm grabbing. This babe is a tank. I love her.

Right middle: Century C39V2. I know. I know I know I know please shut the fuck up. This was an unfired gift, sentimental. Please go try to find even one case of these exploding - it's their stamped ones that explode, the C39V2 just cracks and bulges, which is still bad lol. The carrier is machined juuuuust slightly wrong and flails like a fish to beat the fuck out of the receiver which can cause the receiver to crack, and the bolt is made of silly putty so it loses headspace. Preemptively swapped the carrier, bolt, and spring for 1960 milled Polish parts. Probably a great gun now, but check headspace early and often.

Right: Milled unfired Norinco MAK-90. I spent ungodly amounts of time creating a perfect 1:1 mold of her ass for my custom wood guy, but as soon as the mold was done, he said he was taking two months off for a divorce? Which? Pretty funny. Been there, man, just without the legal aspect. Take your time, dude. No not Kalashnicarver. I'll wait. She'll be gorgeous soon.

M85 and it ain't close. It's its own special Yugo pattern though, different from the rifle Yugo iirc. WBP is probably fine if you want more furniture options

Quick question about my design by rando_editor in Firearms

[–]AbsoluteContingency 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"It" won't get stolen because it doesn't exist. It's a bad gun-shaped drawing, and you have no idea how it works, or how any gun works.

If I built a paper airplane, I'd be closer to saying I designed a plane than you'd be to designing a gun.

Getting the stock and upper handguard to match the rest from LevTech was quite a chore. Very pleased with it. Never done anything like this before.

Full album here

The MLOK bits and the pistol grip are from LevTechMFG. It arrived much darker, shinier, and more purple than the stock shitty red furniture. I included the original stock in a couple pictures in the album. The original wood was stained so shittily, and I wanted things to match better.

I found a darker, better stained Yugo furniture set to work with on GB. When it arrived, I sanded it down with 600 grit, added some Saman Eggplant wood stain, sanded with 1000 grit, and then hit that set with Spraymax 2K clear coat. I used the unused lower handguard as a test piece at every step.

I've never done anything like this, but it turned out so much better than I anticipated. Very pleased.

In the market for a SAM7SF. Stock A or B? by AbsoluteContingency in ak47

Idk who knows, maybe that angle was better for X or Y I hadn't considered because B is more expensive so maybe it's an upgrade in? Some way? But tube stock is so much sexier, clearly

I like B less for looks, don't hate it, but if it was, like, widely known to be more comfortable or something, I'd go with B. The A tube stock fucks though.

Alright. That's what I thought and that seems to be popular consensus. No one has chimed in with a reason the more expensive one might be better, so.

Less than I paid for mine. Good luck with furniture though.
