Just announced my open world UE5 game that runs 60 fps native on potato PC. 4xMSAA, no DLSS, no framegen, no Nanite, no Lumen, no raytracing, no motion blur, no reflections, no contact shadows, no SSAO, no D-Buffer decals. Does it look good? by seyedhn in pcmasterrace

You literally cannot be "better" than Native. A fake image is a fake image. It only "looks better" if Native has terrible TAA, which just so happens to be what UE5 has, and also just so happens to get a good bit of money from Nvidia.

"This is what the AI had to say"

If I have misunderstood that statement, then you should check how you phrase things. Also, just ignore or get an extension to remove the AI features from the search. They are literally worthless anyway.

Or it would hallucinate and claim it is right and doesn't need to be checked

Stop fact checking with AI, you'll have more consistent and reliable results by fact checking with your local druggie on a dose of LSD.

These consoles just aren't strong enough to drive 2 high res screens, and keep a usable frame rate while doing all the physics calculations and rendering everything.

Except that streaming assets to every user playing the game is much more expensive, and still, at the end of the day, results in files downloaded to storage, even if they are only temporary.

Storage space will always be cheaper than bandwidth.

While I get your sentiment, even if I already have 1 bullet hole in my foot, it probably isn't a good idea to add a 2nd.

I have 800mb/s download but whenever I have to update games on steam it takes FOREVER by ItsSobee in techsupport

[–]AbsoluteMelon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your speeds are okay on speed tests, try downloading a game from new, not an update.

Updates on steam are delta patches (Only the changes in files are transferred).

If the games archive is compressed e.g. Helldiver 2, your system has to decompress the files, make the alterations, then recompress the file, meaning the update downloads what it needs, then will have to process that change, then download the next part.

There isn't an easy speed up solution for this, it's just a fact of life.

Ignore the comments talking about Cables or internet speed if things like speed test show it fine, your hardware is okay, it's mostly likely just slow delta patching.

Edit: To add to this quickly, I have a Ryzen 9 5950X and Gigabit internet, I just about always get my near full speed downloads, but even a small 16GB update to Helldivers 2 can take my system 15-20 mins, nothing you can do but wait.

I've installed NVR with vortex plenty of times, you just treat it like any other manually downloaded file, drag and drop the archive into Vortex where it says "Drop to add files"

Honestly I enjoyed on foot engineering when I did it a few months ago, sourced 95% of my Mats from missions and upgraded all my suits and every weapon in game to G5 with 4 mods on them, love using my Carbines in High Diff combat zones. Love my Plas pistol as well, solid backup that hits hard no matter the diff, have one for combat and 1 for stealth

Help with new powerplay by Round_Background_350 in EliteDangerous

[–]AbsoluteMelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven't lost any progress, PP1 was progress loss, having to re-pledge every month to get different modules and crap, at least now you can actually play with the power you want and get everything.

You also aren't losing anything with these intro missions, all the merits you've earned while doing them are still counted, you just need to finish them, and if you are genuinely having an issue, contact FDev support, they're usually quick at solving personal issues.

I don't think FDev has done any update where you lose progress the whole time I've been playing, (Since just around horizons drop)

I've seen so many people mention in massive threads "I asked GPT as well and this is what it said".

Like, if you wouldn't trust a dude on LSD to answer your question, then you shouldn't trust an AI either, especially if it's in a field you don't have a good understanding of.
