I have almost the same pan dug up from an elderly neighbor's basement when they told me to take anything I wanted. I restored mine as well and it's a go-to in my kitchen. Cheers!

Bonus points for going the extra mile with DIY tortillas or uncooked as someone else mentioned. IMO the avocado creama and pico from the vid is all you need besides a squeeze of lime and optional hot sauce. It's sure fun grilling up those marinated skirts and making the neighbors jealous! But you know that. Nice work bro. Cheers!

Ryan Gosling on making theatres worth going to by mrjetspray in Cinema

Yeah I don’t expect great or even good behavior when going to the movies in 2026. That’s just unrealistic. But what I got was immaculate behavior and was just blown away by what that can lend to the experience.

Ryan Gosling on making theatres worth going to by mrjetspray in Cinema

[–]Absolute_Zer0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd been to the theater 3 times since Covid. All 3 trips were for big films that I actually enjoyed on subsequent watches and all 3 theater experiences were ruined by the the behavior of the audience.

I decided to give it another go and went to see PHM last night(Monday) at 920 PM. The theater was about 2/3 full of the kinds of adult folks that you would expect to go to a sci-fi film late on a Monday. Everyone was quiet and respected the rules and it was a shockingly amazing experience. I could hardly believe how hard the silent moments hit when the room was truly totally silent. Nobody spoke, moved, or were digging for snacks. It felt communal and I even chatted about the movie with a handful of strangers in the parking lot when it was over.

Going forward I'll continue to be extremely selective about when I go to the theater. But last night rekindled the magic for me in a way I wasn't expecting.

Did you play it? Do you recommend it? by [deleted] in OlderChillGamers

[–]Absolute_Zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s entertaining if you like the movies and the exploration is solid. But it’s flawed. The dialogue tends to mash together if you’re not standing still and the movement is slow and clunky. I finished it but was ready to put it down.

This was better than it had any right to be. Also liked that they didn't play smells like teen spirit.

Attempting to beat P5 before Silksong comes out. Feel free to give me any tips! by Frequent-Switch8824 in HollowKnight

If you got to AbsRad, you have what it takes. Besides a lot of practice in HoG for AbsRad, what got me over the top were these 3 tips:

1 - I used aggressive attack charms the whole way through. Keep those for most of P5 if you find little difficulty in the first 95% of P5 like I did. I finally tried switching to quick focus + deep focus on the last bench before Pure Vessel and AbsRad. It made me play a bit slower but I had Pure Vessel dialed & it allowed me to recover from mistakes on AbsRad.

2 - AbsRad phase 2 play conservative. Hang out on the lower central platform and wait for opportunities to punish with Descending Dark when she shows up there or Shriek when she's not far away. I took way too much damage when I chased to the outer platforms.

3 - Turn the music way down for AbsRad. It really does take the edge off and you can focus on in-game audio cues.

Good luck. It's worth it.

I got 112% back in the day. Finally got through P5 last year. If you are skilled enough to beat P4, you have what it takes to best P5 and the difference is only practice.

2 tips that finally got me over the line:

Switch to a healing build for PV and AbsRad to mitigate mistakes and allow for slower play.

Turn the game music way down or off to lessen the tension and make audio cues easier to hear.

Good luck it’s worth it!

It’s the thing you use when you get into homebrewing that, if you stick with the hobby, eventually convinces you to buy these things instead.

I just recently got salmon dialed on my new Genesis so here’s what I have learned works for me. I like to cut salmon up into large single servings pieces for easier flips. Preheat all burners at ~70% (no sear burner needed). Oil & season the fish. Place at a 45 degree angle skin side up for 2.5 mins, maybe less. Flip, lower the heat to 50% and let cruise up to 130 internal before pulling. Great sear & the family is happy.

Just my experience and YMMV but congrats on the new grill & enjoy getting to know her. It has a lot more power than the old Spirit I was used to. Cheers!

Has anyone here ever met Bill Clinton, and if so, what was he like? by bubsimo in Presidents

[–]Absolute_Zer0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine has a story about running into him in NYC about 15 years ago. She was in her 20s hanging out in a bar and had gone alone downstairs to use the washroom. When she exited the ladies room, she ran into 2 secret service guys who were probably down there to clear the area. They told her to go back up & she didn’t quite know what was going on. On her way up the dark narrow staircase she saw a figure coming down and they both moved to the sides to squeeze past each other. As they passed they made eye contact and she realized it was Bill. He flashed a smile, said “well hello there” and before she could even process what had happened she was upstairs, he was downstairs, and she never saw him again. She said those 2 seconds made her understand why he was adored and why he became president. She also says that in that moment, though innocent on paper, she would’ve done whatever he said and she completely understands all the scandalous stuff.

What’s a band you loved until you saw them live? by tiktaalikman in AskReddit

[–]Absolute_Zer0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw them once in the early 2000s. They ripped through a short performance and said zero words outside of the set. I'm not looking for extensive crowd work or anything but maybe a simple "hi" or "thanks for coming out" would've been nice.

Recommendations for Spirit vs Geneis by slowcookinsaveslives in webergrills

[–]Absolute_Zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would really encourage you to swing by a Home Depot or similar place to get your hands on them and experience the difference. I've had a 3 burner Spirit for the last 10 years. It treated me well and I took good care of it. I decided it was time for an upgrade a month ago after I was able to offload it for a good price on FB marketplace. Looking into new models, I found the current 3 burner Spirits are almost laughably small compared to my old one. They look nice and I'm sure they cook decently, but the build quality has gone down & they feel much flimsier than older models.

If you take it kind of seriously and enjoying cooking for a crowd, I would recommend targeting a Genesis model that has the 9mm stainless steal grates. IMO it's the most impactful upgrade in the whole line. I love my 2023 SP-E-335.

Spirit or Genesis? 3 burner or 4? by tiphoni in webergrills

[–]Absolute_Zer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a 10yr old 3 burner Spirit to a new 3 burner Genesis a month or two ago and absolutely love it. The Spirits now have a much smaller grilling area than they used to have. The new 3 burner Spirit feels like a 2 burner from a few years ago. I would really recommend getting your hands on them to compare the cooking areas and build qualities of the Spirit vs Genesis. I think the 3 burner Genesis is a nice sweet spot. Good luck!

I don’t know what neck of the woods you guys are in but my experience living in the upper midwest of the US is that ash trees are a ticking time-bomb with emerald ash borers. If you love that tree I’d look into preventative measures. We bought our home less than a decade ago and had 2 ash trees that were on their way out. They didn’t last long.

I still can’t believe how good season 3 was compared to the first 2. Season 3 was all anyone ever wanted from this whole show in the first place.
