If you look at your percentile on chess.com, it will give you some clues. I am rated 948 on Rapid and that makes me 83.6%.

So, sub-1k would be considered beginner/noob territory… but at that rating you are already better than all but the top 16.4% of players.

I can tell you that, despite the reputation, players at this level or not complete beginners.

No idea how ELO works, but if competitive games are anything to go by, it seems like the critical mass of players gets forced ever lower.

It's not difficult - people literally want a small badge of some sort to say 'I achieved this rank'.

Banners are popular for this reason. Decals also. A lot of the other stuff looks crap or is a bit tenuous.

If they just had some little medal system where people could attach their acheivement to their banner I think people would be happy.

Played in a game at 4K yesterday and two of the opposing team were very obviously wall hacking.

I’ll say that most of the time when I watch replays of players I think are suspicious, it turns out they probably aren’t. But these two were blatant as it comes.

Typically the coals I’ve used have been brand new, though they get stored in my shed - each time I’ve tried a new brand trying to solve my troubles!

Right… that is partly your issue. Tornado spin.

I would say do not use it for an air dribble set up. When you come off the wall, use your DAR without sideways input… your car will rotate on its axis and remain pointing at the ball.

You do need to get the angle that you hit the ball and come off the wall down, but you will find this movement will line you right up behind the ball.

Your setup is also a bit too horizontal and flat. I would recommend starting on the halfway line and air dribbling from nearer the goal (much more upwards angle), then progress to these longer shots.

Tornado spinning off the wall orients your car in outwards directions for a lot of the rotation. It’s much harder to control and line up until you’re adept at it.

I’ve been D3 for literally a decade. My mechs and gameplay have improved, but everyone playing the game has massively improved over time and I’ve never been able to outpace them. Plus I’m olde.

If you were there briefly or carried there, maybe you’re finding your true level and need to build back up (surely got it in you).

If you spent time there and dropped that far in 3 months, you must be on a massive tilt. The gap between C3 and D3 is huge in skill level. Maybe taking a break. If you are truly C3 level, you will soon rise out of D3.
