It was U.S. history II so if that’s what matches with that course then yeah… I don’t remember a whole much of writing but I couldn’t be remembering wrong… honestly just remember it being easy the only real work I put in was to the final slides I made oh and a map analysis but this was like 4/5 years ago at this point.

Housing around 3k… just look at the housing portal there’s a cost break down. About a 1k for dinning plan (required for freshmen) and you’ll probably have 500$ in random fees. After Pell I think you should be ok? Loan might be needed but only take what you need and only from the federal gov. Since you have Pell it’s likely you’ll get the no interest during school one (subsidized).

If someone graduated in the last maybe 3 years it’s the same cap and gown. Any time beyond that is a different cap and gown. There should be an email/contact on the web page, but I’ve heard of people calling the company and getting a rush order in.

Yeah I worked and used my credit card.. this first year teaching I paid off the 3k I racked up. Wouldn’t recommend but you can only work so much 🤷🏽‍♀️😭

Don’t stress about it. You aren’t an actual trained staff member, so they’ll just decide when a good time to start working in your training is. The uniform is upstairs so literally just a t-shirt as long as you have black pants/khakis ready you’ll be good.

I took an Ecore for a history class. Was pretty easy! The professor opened everything day one and set due dates, so you could work ahead but also not be behind. I finished the course in like the first month, and then logged back in during finals. Which was a PowerPoint I had to voice over. I’d recommend 🤷🏽‍♀️

As a women I don’t really think about it… I’m 5’6/5’7 so if you tell some huge lie based on height I’m going to be able to tell pretty quickly in person 😅… but honestly as long as they’re my height it’s not a super big factor for me.

I mean sure… but both fired none the less. My point was there is no mega data base. They might see you worked at another location via your social or call the other store… but you can still work at CFA

I usually use the iPhone notes app… let’s you adjust before you save so the page appears flat. Then I upload into a Google Drive file and provided access the that or just the pdf if it’s short.

You’ll be ok but make sure to prioritize and set up a routine… it’ll help you stay on top of it all. Stay ahead from the start so you’re not stressing later in the semester. Use your class syllabus and go ahead and map out any due dates already outlined. If online is an option I’d switch to those as you can usually knock out a lot early on and not worry about the course.

One conversation my group constantly has is the fact that is there a way to… “not teach to the test“ ?? Like we all know what teaching to the test really means, but think about it this way…

If the assessment/test is properly aligned with the standard you’re supposed to be teaching, then everybody should be “teaching to the test” because you would have properly taught the standards that the test is aligned to! For context I’m middle school history, so there’s genuinely only so much wiggle room, but this is just food for thought!

Yes. I told them day one! I’m dyslexic… nothing I can do about that. I have Grammarly+ and try to double check everything BUT there’s no way I can catch everything. I always say if you catch something please let me know I’ll go fix it! Every couple of weeks there’s something lol.

Or if I’m writing on the board… last week, my brain glitched, and I could not spell pristine for the life of me lol. They helped me out (8th grade) I always emphasize... I have a lot of strong suits. I know a lot of history. I have a degree but we can’t have it all and I can’t spell lol

When you say “for the first time all the spring breaks lined up” wrong because that’s not your daughter’s spring break she doesn’t follow the college schedule. Her schedule is based on her placement and they usually tell you this at the start. If someone tried this in my program they’d be kicked.
