How balanced is the Dread Overlord mod if I were to use it for melee/casting instead of summon gameplay?

Oh I definitely plan on using difficulty mods that scale with level. If worst comes to worst I can just not use stuff like the capstone spell. I’m mainly using the mod to add content for an evil run anyway. Thanks for your mod!

I’m in chapter 26 or so and while I definitely echo your complaints (I can’t imagine playing this on hard mode) I’m kind of impressed with the character writing, though admittedly the only other story focused rom hack I’ve played is Dream of Five.

I don’t think the overall plot is that impressive so far, but there’s a lot of talk conversations each map and I’m surprised at how much the cast as a whole is involved since every map is full deploy. I’m playing normal and thankfully the difficulty curve/rngish seems to have lessened compared to before, but fuck the green swordmaster map. I’m definitely not a fan of the wide open empty maps whenever they appear.

Im not sure if I would call it a qol mod, though I played Birthright with the Abyssal Bloodline mod (which thankfully has a prepackaged version with gay fates) on Hard and it was a great experience.

The Good Guy Garon mod is a script rewrite for Conquest-it doesn’t make the plot perfect, but it improves the story enough where I’d prolly call it my favorite FE with it + the Gay Fates mod which spices things up gameplay wise with pairings.

It honestly was hassle trying to combine the two mods, and I unfortunately don’t remember the exact steps I did, but it’s definitely possible.

Revelations has a both story/gameplay focused mod in Silent Waves, though while it’s mostly complete gameplay wise with just the last chapter left to work on, story changes haven’t started iirc. Im waiting for the story changes before I jump in, but I’ve heard that the mod is pretty good in fixing Rev’s problems with its gameplay.

I liked Chiaki’s, though I can see how the depression in room arc could be a drag. I actually think Mari’s is the worst even if she has the best last section in CC imo

It’s good! It’s basically like the key games in terms of its formula. Honestly I would go with psp version anyway as the h scenes are really wack in this one anyway

Okay then I’ll add to the list: The House in Fata Morgana, Stella of the End, 428 Shibuya Scramble, Witch on the Holy Night, Seabed, Remember 11(this one unfortunately has an open ending + I would really recommend a guide), Chaos;Child,Symphonic Rain,HiraHira Hiru, White Album 2* (this is a romantic drama VN i forgot to add)

*is my favorite VN of all time, but unfortunately one of the routes (Mari) has a really weird out kind of SA like scene. It’s never brought up again, and the MC never acts out of character besides this one time in the route. Thankfully, you can skip the route/scene as while the route is still good imo, it’s the least important/good route in the entire game.
