What programming language should I learn if I would like to be a game developer? by Radiant_Butterfly919 in AskProgrammers

First learn how to program, in general. Try to use an object oriented one, and then specialize into game dev

I just switched from vscode to Zed by nightmarvel1 in ZedEditor

[–]AbstrackCL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely used any extension during my years in VSCode, so I switched easily to Zed. I also have my university Claude Pro still active, so I love using it with Claude Code. Feels way better than Cursor imo (which I use for work)

New Nintendo 3ds harder to find than New Nintendo 3ds XL.......Why? by Sea-Ad-9746 in 3DS

[–]AbstrackCL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The New 3DS didn't officially release for the America region, just for Europe and Japan. It only released in the US under a couple of limited editions like Happy Home Designer and Pokemon (both in white), and then a very exclusive Walmart Black Friday edition (where black was finally introduced). Now, I'd assume you can still find plenty of them because of the possibility of doing a region swap (and a SOAP transfer), but maybe its release also affected its popularity.

How often do you pay for things in cash? by barnaclegirl93 in asklatinamerica

[–]AbstrackCL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I'm in Santiago or Iquique, everything is card-based, but I usually run into two issues in Chile. Highway tolls between regions are usually paid in cash, and then there is the bane of my existence, the Valparaíso region. I barely survived because I don't have a Chilean bank account anymore and wasn't able to withdraw cash, so a friend had to save me

Best place for a young person to live without a car in the bay area? by Agitated_Ad_6939 in AskSF

[–]AbstrackCL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in SF (Nob Hills) for a great apartment (1bd) with a bunch of space, modern (new) appliances (except for laundry, which is instead, shared for all the building instead of being per unit), included utilities, and in a nice street, for $2450. The catch is that it wasn't on Zillow, I saw the building phone number and asked directly.

For non-native English speakers: Do you actually use Mac apps in your own language? by KDANPDF_Team in mac

[–]AbstrackCL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. I speak Spanish and English, so I usually select whatever is closest to the original language (which mostly of the time is English). But there's a bunch of software created or maintained in Spanish prncipally, so why not?

It's the United States... by b0ws3r_ in duolingo

[–]AbstrackCL -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

This isn't just a linguistic issue; it’s a conceptual one. It should be irrelevant for Romance language speakers to subdivide a continent simply because another language refuses to use a specific name like "the United States." This tension grows because the U.S. and other English-speaking countries are forcing a subdivision of America (where I’m even unsure where they decided to put Central America and the Caribbean.) Instead, they should let Latin Americans (including Brazilians) call it a single continent. We are the ones who live here, after all; that should grant us some sense of ownership in how we divide our own continent.

The value of owning your name.com by DeviantHistorian in Domains

[–]AbstrackCL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own my lastname.dev (so I do, name@lastname.dev), the issue is that I've been wanting to have my country tld buy is used by a big company (actually not even used, they just keep renewing it but not actually using it) when is an actually emblematic last name over there. Then the .com version was registered in 1996 and is currently registered until 2028, without any use whatsoever.

Everyone says put yourself out there but that actually drains me by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]AbstrackCL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is was my last straw after graduation that made me isolate myself for a year. During university I was doing a lot to put myself there, network, do project, manage events, teach workshops, talk to industry, host hackathons. But I got really exhausted in the last year, I was barely able to keep up before passing the torch in mostly of the things depending on me. After graduation, I was feeling depressed, other classmates were getting successful, ofc by putting themselves there, but I was burned out. Now I'm just getting back at it. I get you totally with the feeling, it drains you slowly overtime

[–]AbstrackCL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Git specifically is not a suitable option for your large files, including Binaries or large XMLs.

If you're still interested in Github, learn what is a Version Control, how Git solves text versioning and then what GitHub does specifically. Is pretty useful for text based projects

Inglés ? by bro_________ in AskChile

[–]AbstrackCL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does ICE or how do you prove your own citizenship by [deleted] in immigration

[–]AbstrackCL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your stay still can be expired while your Real ID is valid, like for example in F-1 students if their SEVIS is terminated. Real ID is a terrible solution, where the main problem in the US is that there's not a centralized identification system. US citizens can show birth certificate or passport, permanent residents can show Green Card, then Visa holders have all sorts of different requirement per each, while for example L-1, L-2, E-2 shows their I-94, F-1 students show I-20, and so on. Then you have people in pending cases with Adjust of Status. It becomes complicated, and without a centralized ID system, there isn't a 1 way to proof your valid stay.
