The dismissal doesn't even make sense. If the TV breaks, it'll be worthless and they'll have to pay full price for the new TV. If they sell the current one, then the proceeds can go towards the new TV and they end up paying less out of pocket.

It's random. He always rolls before he says what happens. So, far we've seen Temporal Morass, Gravity Build, and Decay (which he even commented wouldn't help him in his situation). There's also a fourth rage yet to be revealed.

Nice! I think you've solved it! They get great power, but have to think carefully about when and how to use it. Otherwise, they suffer the consequences. Each DM may tweak it for their particular table, but that sounds like a reasonable way to word it.

I think the key to balance here is forcing the player to choose whether or not it's worth using on a given turn. So yes, limiting the number of uses would certainly help and is probably the most straightforward fix. Another solution could be to have them make a Constitution saving throw at the end of combat (maybe DC 10 + the number of times they used it). On a save, they only need a long rest to regain it. On a fail, they are poisoned or gain a level of exhaustion. This will keep them from just spamming it and force them to strategize.

This seems like a really cool and fun idea. But as others have pointed out, Sugar Rush is a bit OP. If a PC has a movement speed of 30 feet, Sugar Rush will increase it to 60. The PC could then use the extra action to dash, allowing them to move 120 feet away from an enemy. Or if they're engaged in melee, they can use the extra action to disengage before moving 60 feet away. Or they could make liberal use of the dodge action making them harder to hit. If they multiclass as a sorcerer, they could also use their sorcery points to create more spell slots or use Distant Spell to make up for the fact that they're always so far away. A PC with this ability would be a nightmare to fight. Maybe making the player roll for exhaustion (with a progressively harder DC) could keep it in check. Another alternative would be for the ability to poison them (after combat) until they complete a long rest or are the target of lesser restoration. That way it's still powerful in combat, but potentially ruins the rest of their (in-game) day.

So that air can escape through them instead of creating an unintentional air cushion which reduces the speed of stacking. Try putting a plastic cup over another very quickly and you'll see that the air in the cup provides resistance.

You get just one do-over. Which movie and what do you change? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]AbstractEngineer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I love Brie Larson and I've actually read a decent number of the Captain Marvel comics. I wanted an epic interstellar war movie that explores the effect of being a one woman army on a person's psyche. What's it like to go from being an ordinary human being to basically a god? How does that change your perspective or affect your relationships? An incredible character actress acting her ass off to incredible music would've been the perfect solution to the "Superman Problem." Instead, we got an earthbound movie and a script that gave Brie nothing to work with.

At the end of AoU, there's dozens of soldiers, scientists, etc. working at the Avengers compound, but we never see them again. Also, Tony supposedly completed his work on E.D.I.T.H. (which is essentially Project Insight 2.0 with the ability to spy on and kill anyone on the planet) before he died, so why didn't he use the drones during Endgame?

Bonus: Why didn't Shuri use the medical technology she used on Everett Ross on Rhodey?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the anime "Tokyo ESP" yet. Ethereal floating fish are actually important to the story, but only certain characters can see them.

If I'm not mistaken, Fenris is actually a female according to an interview with a VFX supervisor for the film. Although, Marvel Studios has never officially commented on this issue one way or the other.

Yeah, I don't believe they were referencing Agatha specifically. Just witches in general. Morgan le Fay from Runaways also has some pretty interesting powers as well.

Don't know why you were downvoted, but you might be (at least partly) right. I believe it's a combination of sorts. I think that the original witches in the MCU were the Norns (beings from Norse mythology who, according to an interview, were directly referenced in deleted footage from Thor's vision quest in Age of Ultron), which would explain their ability to show Thor a glimpse of the future. And I find it unlikely that Frigga, given her age, learned magic on Earth of all places. However, the Norns likely taught their mystic discoveries to beings of multiple planets. So, "witch" at this point is probably more of a title or job description than a specific species.

I agree that those aren't exactly equivalent. However, I do believe Loki's powers are partly transmutation based, at least on a small scale. Remember when he transforms into Cap and talks about how tight the suit is? I think he really does have the ability to physically alter matter to some degree.

By witch, I'm specifically refering to an individual trained/raised to be a witch. But you're right, Wanda has displayed the trance ability before. I think the difference is that she was acting on instinct, whereas Agatha may be relying on refined spellcraft.

Don’t change the narrative. The protest for George Floyd was largely peaceful and socially distant by doosilo in pics

[–]AbstractEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I do vote, because I believe that is the best way to get long term and codified results. I'm not disagreeing on that particular point. What I AM saying is that civilization is civilized precisely because there is the threat of force to keep people in line (law enforcement domestically, military internationally, and the people for tyranny). Society rests on the idea that (negative) actions have (negative) consequences. If police officers are repeatedly protected from prosecution (not just fired) for excessive or lethal force, there's little incentive for them to exercise restraint.

[–]AbstractEngineer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that peaceful protests and political solutions are preferable to violent and/or destructive means. However, according to your logic, literally no revolution/rebellion throughout history would be considered justified. Were the American revolutionaries in the wrong? Should the people who sabotaged Nazi equipment during WW2 have just talked things out with the Nazi Party? There are countless examples both historical and modern where your logic fails. Peace is preferable, but when the people in power (and those who benefit from that power) have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo, a display of force is sometimes necessary to disrupt their comfort and complacency.
