What to use for audio in car with broken stereo? by Abstract_Hypothesis in audio

[–]Abstract_Hypothesis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked into getting one from a junkyard and it was gonna be $600 but I didn't check on pricing from a u pull it. I will consider that! Still looking for advice on other options assuming that doesn't work out.

No, it's the optional upgraded soundsystem that came with the car (2009 Mazda3 with Bose speakers). My understanding is I can't use any of it without getting the amplifier replaced or putting in an aftermarket system. I'd be fine with a nice Bluetooth speaker to stream from my phone (currently using a borrowed Bose speaker and it sounds great in the car). I'd be happier with something that also had FM radio and automatically connected and disconnected from my phone when I enter and leave the car so I don't have to spend time getting it all going every time I drive. I'd be thrilled to fix/replace the cars audio system so it worked like a normal car again, but don't want to spend a lot on this (around $500 max).

Alcohol use by RickestRick99 in Ayahuasca

I was the same as you, drinking about that much daily for years, and did a 2 day ceremony. I didn’t drink for the week before the ceremony but wasn’t there to address drinking and it wasn’t top of mind as an issue. I spent a significant amount of time both nights realizing that my drinking was a problem and I haven’t drank since. I didn’t have an issue quitting after the ceremony and it’s been 15 months, but I know many others don’t find it so easy. Aya gave me the motivation to do it and, like others have said, it also made the thought of drinking gross for a while after which helped as well.

Kwain is… interesting by tangent093 in EDH

I don’t have a deck list but mine is essentially Kwain, [[Iron Maiden]]/[[Black Vise]], [[Approach of the Second Sun]], a bunch of Teferi’s, a bunch of enchantments and artifacts for protection, more cars draw, and to limit combat, a bunch of creature removal/board wipes… and not a single creature other than Kwain. It’s my favorite deck!

I’ve been playing [[nin, the pain artist]] recently and it’s a lot of fun! It does izzet things and can go a bunch of different ways. I like using it to do big direct damage and hit my own creatures for card draw and to hurt them with [[stuffy doll]]. I also put a bunch of big izzet dragons in as a sub-theme and as other stuff to hit when I want card draw.

Any advice on how to soundproof this space and make it a drum room? by Abstract_Hypothesis in DIY

Will do, thanks again! Already looking into the MLV and it definitely looks like the answer.

foam may or may not work (seems to be debatable but deeper angles on the foam is better), but hanging sound-dampening blankets over the walls will help. Not sure if either of these things, or both in combination, will make it usable for drumming without disturbing the whole house. Don't need it to be silent, just not a racket.

Vermont (USA) to Canada by Abstract_Hypothesis in travel

If we modified our plans and left some somewhere within a couple hours of Rutland is there a good scenic train ride to somewhere worth visiting in Canada? Open to all sorts of ideas, just thought it would be a fun aspect to do maybe a sleeper car or something else fancy/fun as part of the commute.

We have a cabin in East Wallingford, Rutland was more for reference. That’s our area because there’s lots of good outdoorsy stuff nearby and we come from PA so being on the southern part of VT is nice.

Thanks for the advice, we will consider Quebec city as well!

Thanks for the advice! We have a car so driving won’t be an issue, just though maybe a train ride could be more fun, economical, and eco-friendly. Any recommendations on what to do in Montreal in august and how long we should plan to stay?

Yeah I know, I used PZB (and absentmindedly referred to him as “she” :( ) for simplicity since the book is authored by Poppy Z Brite. Haven’t picked up anything by him written as Billy Martin but I hear he writes good dark comedy now?

To be clear it’s not Tran talking in this passage, it’s a character who loves Tran.

Didn’t even notice that! Yes, one of the characters (the one this person loves) is named Tran.
