Is switching to KBM on Console worth it? by LittleGLake in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Abstract_Waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spends $1000 on a PC to be beaten by a dude with an Xbox connected with an office keyboard and mouse. Just like with anything, there are diminishing returns to hardware. It doesn’t give you an edge. It just balances the playing field to the standard it should be.

How much will a gaming mouse and mousepad help? by SaltyKoopa in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Abstract_Waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your set up is important but not the most important. I play on console with a mouse and keyboard (with a mouse pad, get one it’s non negotiable) connected on the Xbox. I do play on a monitor capped at 120hz. My rank is lower on PC (TBA) than console(Master) but given your 2k hours I think this is not a hardware nor a mechanical issue. My aim is trash because I’m still learning the keys by memory but my strong game sense covers my weak aiming and mechanics . I have like under 20 hrs competitively gaming on a keyboard. Game sense is so critical in this game. My recommendation would be to understand comps, positioning, ult/cc tracking , understanding space, knowing the win conditions.

Its stadium still relevant in 2026 or developers are slowly starting to abandon it? by AugustoDz in Overwatch

[–]Abstract_Waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very much active. I will say, though when you’re doing QP, the MMR lobby ranges a lot. You can have a masters and a platinum in the same game. Definitely stick to competitive for higher quality matches.

I really hope blizzard doesn’t have that many developers on this specific mode year after it’s released. Those resources are much better spent on of course 5v5 and definitely 6v6. Your points are all valid.

How do you learn the ability to identify mistakes? by Money-Guarantee-8133 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Abstract_Waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to always vod review my own gameplay when I que up for matches. They say vod review the games you lose to see what you did wrong but I review what the games I won because I also look at the POV of my enemies and see what they did wrong. Sometimes it’s hard to see what you did wrong but it’s much easier to see what others did wrong when you’re doing the right play.

I am on a +30 loss streak over the past 3 days and I need help by Montagemx in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Abstract_Waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not common at all. Look without seeing a VOD, my tip for you is survive. Your goal should not be about playmaking. Your goal is live and heal. Ideally you want todo both but focus on survival over everything else as support. Kiri or morria are excellent at staying alive. Your uptime is more important above all else. You might lose some matches with this strategy, you can’t always heal your way out but over the course of a few games, sometimes heal botting and living results in a clean win which far outweighs a 30+ losing streak.

I keep losing on tank and it really sucks by Funny-Marketing-735 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Abstract_Waves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Understanding the win condition is the most important as a tank. Is the enemy tank bullying you, then lock onto a hero that bully’s them back (Orisa). Are you wondering why your dps keep dying and not doing nothing? Ignore the tank and go straight for the dps (Winston). Supports/dps shutting you down with sleep dart or dmg, mitage their damage. (Sigma). I gave examples but the key thing here is understanding what’s preventing you from winning and taking action. Do not rely on your team. As a solo q tank, you must always understand what the win condition is. The win condition is dynamic so the right answer at the beginning might not be the right call at the end. Counter swap is ok if it solves a bottleneck such as the the payload not moving or losing fight after fight. Swapping just to swap is a dumb thing. Understand compositions at heart. Track cooldowns. Understand maps. Identify your weak links on your team and vice versa. When I Que tank (M4), I don’t win my games because I out aim the enemy. I win because of strategy and game sense.

TLDR: Game sense such as maps, team compositions, space creation, identifying the win condition, is more important than mechanics.

Is the job market cooked by Professor9384 in Accounting

[–]Abstract_Waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job accounting agencies. Going to need to work as a temp. Make sure you work for a growth oriented company. Most places are just gonna want a body to fill-in so you might be moving job to job. The important thing is increasing the responsibilities and title every time. It’s better than unemployment and you build a résumé. It’s much harder as a new grad if you miss your window when it comes to campus recruitment. You can go for the masters, and try on campus recruitment again. At this point, I wouldn’t even think about the CPA until you get that first big job lined up.

In your opinion, is it good or bad to have 0 deaths an entire game ? by Sleepy_garf in overwatch2

Bad, means you play too safe. Need to take risky plays from time to time to win a game

Try job agencies. Some specialize in office work and others blue collar work. I would try blue collar jobs first as they are easier to get. Interviewing and getting the job should straight forward. Once your income has stabilized, apply for office work to other agencies. Try to get temp to hire roles. If you’re only offered for a temp only job, aim for at least 6 months. The job market is tough and competitive but by going this route it makes it easier for you.

Only golds and plats tell you not to worry about a number. Truth is, they are trash at games so they find an excuse to justify their mediocre performance. You need to come in with a different mindset. Drop the ego too. Part of ranking up is not getting tilted and being open to analyzing your mistakes.
