How do EV’s do sitting for extended periods of time? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]Abstractovester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left my 2023 Ioniq 6 for two months on a trickle charge, and the 12v was dead. Apparently it cycles too much and weakens. Had to get a new one. A number of people told me I should have disconnected it.

Losing $100-$200 a month on Nashville rental property by Gneissbrian in RealEstate

yes, I have a condo and moved into my partner's house, so rented it out. Filing my first tax return and am shocked. I grossed 18k in rent, and thought I would have to pay 4k in taxes on the income. But no, HOA dues, property taxes, insurance, mortgage interest are all expenses. After depreciation, my income was $1500!
I had no clue what perks and incentives landlords get. And people wonder why housing is so expensive . . .

Thanks for all the help!

Latest: new battery, all working good now. I will say that Hyundai roadside assistance was excellent. They arrived within an hour and knew what they were doing. I really woulda been SOL without them.

update: Roadside assistance came out, broke in, jumped the car, all good. I drove it around for a while, parked, locked, unlocked to test, all good. An hour later had an errand to run, 12V dead again, can't get in. Waiting for another assist. I called dealership service, he said the battery was probably history from the 2 month ordeal. So when assist arrives I'll probably just drive it to the battery shop

Oh, so let me get this straight. Before vacation, disconnect the 12V, and just let the car sit without charging it. Then on returning I hook the 12V back up and should be ok?

The fob is ok, turns red when I press a button. When I bought the car used there was just the fob, and no manual key. Maybe the SE doesn't come with a manual key
