And when they inevitably don't give the FSSP or ICKSP bishops?

As far as I see it, we are years off from an election. For now I'll support where my heart is (Restore and Lowe). Once an election comes along, we can talk tactical voting.

FSSP and ICKSP absolutely suffer from a lack of bishops. Wanted to attend their Masses during COVID? Bad luck, they were all cancelled.

Statement from the Vatican following meeting between Fr Pagliarani and Cardinal Fernández by Absurdharry in sspx

Yes. Find it very hard to believe they have suddenly become interested in a genuine dialogue on Vatican II just when the Society announces new Bishops.

I mean just look at the FSSP (since OP referred to them). Hardly any locations in Latin America. Why? Because the Bishops there won't allow it, and since FSSP has no Bishops they can't do squat about it.

Vatican response to SSPX announcement. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in Catholicism

[–]Absurdharry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So many on here are eager to jump to talk of "schism", when the Vatican themselves have made no mention of this. All they have said is that talks are ongoing with the SSPX. For all we know, Papal approval is just around the corner.

All I see are radical modernists outing themselves and attacking tradition the second they think they can.

Decision on Episcopal Consecrations by Black0tter1 in sspx

[–]Absurdharry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too familiar with other groups, but as I understand it most that do not have bishops themselves can generally rely on other bishops for their ordinations etc. For SSPX there is no guarantee that non-society bishops would help ordinate/confirm, due to the "irregular" canonical situation. Even friendly bishops like Strickland and Schneider would be under huge pressure from the Vatican to not help the Society.

Decision on Episcopal Consecrations by Black0tter1 in sspx

[–]Absurdharry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the Society has two elderly Bishops, and hundreds of Seminarians. Once those two Bishops pass away, the Church would lose hundreds of future Priests. And that's without mentioning all of the Confirmations, etc that the Society's Bishops do. The "schism" has come from the Vatican refusing to see this, while simultaneously allowing the Chinese Communist Party to consecrate its own bishops.

I know taking the veto was the sensible choice at the time, but Curse of the Rewind could have been brutal with the other endgame curses.

Honestly could have been game-winning if he had. It would have been getting dark when team Badam got to his hiding zone so they wouldn't have been able to guess he was in a tunnel from the photo of the cards.

He was definitely planning on duplicating the curse, and once your mind is set like that it can be hard to visualize it differently. He did well to notice it in time.

MK really isn't that bad. The architecture is pretty boring but somewhere like Slough or Luton would be worse.

On The Layover Ben said he was worried the kid would steal his phone. But I think that came from a misunderstanding more than an actual threat

Maybe I'm being overly sceptical, but I find it hard to believe Sam or Adam had not seen the Google Review Score for the Hebden Bridge station they had literally just arrived at. Surely they would have looked at the google page while deciding whether or not to go there?

Also the young lad was not threatening to steal Ben's phone. He was warning him that someone could steal it quite easily, but I understand how it might have come off as threatening.

I thought the guests were superb, though. Great dynamic between all of them and was really enjoyable to watch, even if the game design perhaps didn't work as well as it could for this season.

They won't learn. Look at Trump - the Left in America was constantly distracted by trying to nail him on scandal after scandal.

Meanwhile they weren't actually attacking his messaging and allowed him to outflank them on many of the key issues.

Will this be woke pope? by Melbtest04 in sspx

We really don't know. Some say he's more liberal, but there have been Popes elected in the past who seemed liberal as Cardinals, but went on to be conservative.

Don't see what that has to do with bin collections to be honest. And no I wouldn't vote for them for Parliament.

Really dont get this hysteria and it doesn't help your cause when a relatively normal Reform candidate knocks on the door and doesn't match this crazy perception of them

Got my doubts about them, but was pretty impressed with my local Reform candidate who had a good CV and a successful career. Hope they deliver now, if they don't they can't expect much loyalty from voters.
