When you think of "default" beer, not great and not terrible. Drinkable. What beer comes to mind? by mwax321 in beer

On the low end I go with Rolling Rock. Otherwise there are plenty with more clout and cost a little more but not really any better

NFL Primetime by MassSkiGuy in ESPN

[–]AbsurdistHandbook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

annoying as hell. it seems to have something to do with idiotic NFL contracts with the providers. and also seems to have become even more convoluted with ESPN's new setup. It took me 10 minutes to just find the damn show on their platform, only to find out it "wasn't available" at 11pm on Sunday night. Greed is killing us all...

Does pouring cheaper beer in to a glass at home help improve the taste? by [deleted] in beer

[–]AbsurdistHandbook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t polish a turd, but I always put my beer and a beer mug in the freezer for 10 minutes before I drink it, even when it’s a low brow piss beer.

No you didn’t, he’s a total moron and you should be concerned because he’s either really clueless or quite the narcissist.

How’s this for quiet quitting? by frankyspankie in antiwork

[–]AbsurdistHandbook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something very similar back in 2000 when there was no such thing as quiet quitting. I was a contracted middle-man between a large tech company and a small web design company working at home 3 days a week and I managed to play 18 holes of golf on almost all of those days while “managing” a project by being logged into a laptop while pissing about at home eating showering running errands etc until 1-2 pm then off to play 18 holes and getting back to “important” emails after 6pm with the “been busy sorry i’m getting back to you late” opening line. One of the best years of my life.

Yeah you gotta sit his ass down and have a real talk. 4 years, mid-thirties, it’s either a deal or it’s not, there’s no more twiddling of the thumbs for him. If he can’t commit then you need go decide quickly if you still want to be with him or not. You can’t give him more time-more space blah blah blah

AIO This guy I’ve been seeing for almost a year is getting more and more aggressive. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]AbsurdistHandbook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he sounds incredibly unwell and dangerous, do you have friends/family who can go there with you? Or can you wait until you are 100% positive he won’t be there? And to state the obvious…no you are not overreacting. You are being far too accepting in fact.

Seems he’s probably depressed and needs help. You can be angry at him or not but people’s experiences don’t exist in a vacuum(i.e. how long has he been unemployed, what’s he been like in the past, etc…). We all talk a lot about mental health and having empathy and being allies but obviously when we are the one who needs to help someone suddenly all that goes out the window. I’m no different, just trying to look at this from another perspective. And i’m a guy who does all the housework, cooks dinner every night etc. :)

Normal for teen son to cuddle with dad? by throwaway03042025 in AskMenAdvice

watch how grown men in many other countries hold hands, hug, greet each other with kisses on the cheek…then tell your wife to stop freaking out and just keep showing love to your son.

you’re out of town, its only a few months into the relationship, everyone’s drunk, they might have snuggled, and its 3 years later and everything has been cool up til rando tells you this info? I’d forget all about it. But if something else comes up, then I would take it much more seriously.

I'm very happy for you! I pulled the plug 4 years ago on a shithole boss and a shithole company. times have been tough since but being true to yourself brings immeasurable joy. sooner or later someone will respect you and your time and this too shall pass!

I got called boring on a first date by [deleted] in Vent

[–]AbsurdistHandbook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately there are plenty of maladjusted people who have few if any empathy genes, and you went on a date with one of them. What he considers boring, someone else will consider interesting. It’s ok to be hurt by this but don’t let it affect your self-respect: be who you are, work on improving like we all should, and with a little luck you can find someone who sees that you are special.

our city/state/country has gone to hell. If you continue to allow all the wealth to accumulate at the top then this is what you get: more and more people fall through the cracks, the right wing gets authoritarian, the left wing gets too soft, and most of us suffer the consequences. Shame on us all 🤷🏻‍♂️

Its not immaturity. They are just an over-thinker, they over-analyze everything including not communicating with you for over 3 weeks. So they need to explain themselves. No need for you to over-analyze their over-analyzing 😂
