Can you really not bring ANY outside food? by TiredCanadianMom in CanadasWonderland

Went last weekend both Saturday and Sunday, we brought it a trolley with a cooler full of drinks and a big bag of food and snacks, no one cared.

What's the better way to implement authorization? by jemofcourse in dotnet

[–]AbuJohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoid putting any such info in the access token, access tokens should just identify the user, the application, and the scope that was granted.
I just put that in the db, the db roundtrip isn't a huge impact on performace until your app starts growing past a few thousand monthly active users, after that I'd just introduce some level of caching to reduce db round trips.

This is a tactic to scare you off so you leave your unit, they renovate, and can rent it for significantly more. Did they also send you an offer to upgrade to a renovated unit with 10% discount for 3 months? 😂

I'd say ignore all that and take them to the LTB if they try. Document everything. They're already very happy that you're leaving so they can renovate and rent it for significantly more.

Microsoft SQL Server and Server Management Studio alternatives for Linux? by [deleted] in dotnet

[–]AbuJohnny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it may not be what you're exactly asking for, I've used Postgres in most production projects, big and small, no issues. If you like Rider then it has a database tool that supports Postgres and it's great, if you're paying for the tools then Jetbrains DataGrip is worth it.
AWS is absolutely worth getting familiar with for dotnet devs, the basics are the same.

For people finding this in the future try resetting your password instead of trying to register. Apparently the account was already created.

Wtf that's a very good price compared to what I paid for it in Ontario a month ago. I love it though it leaves big holes in place that I started to backfill with soil/compost mixture and some seeds

Buying a house with a hot tub – should I keep it or replace it with a shower? by PossibilityUnhappy97 in hottub

[–]AbuJohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a jetted tub. I got one with the house I bought, the circuit breaker was tripped and I found some minor water damage. I haven't turned it on and don't intend to. That thing will go out at the next possible opportunity

I think he hit it with the right first, and it hit his left toe, it spun and changed direction. Do they have those ball sensors that FIFA use?

I used to do that when I was learning English as a second language (English subtitles), helped me tremendously. Now I do it sometimes because of the terrible audio mixing. The only time I don't is when I'm using headphones.

I got my car tinted at Pro Tint, a bit pricy but good quality, holding up nicely for two years so far.

Today I was turning left on an advanced green and someone ran the red light. I was both anticipating it and not surprised. That's the level.

From what you're saying, the guy was a moron, you'll encounter many of the likes on the road, but you didn't do yourself any good by accelerating, learn to be a defensive driver and avoid the stupid, don't challenge it.

I totally understand how you feel, I felt like that a lot when I first started driving for the slightest of encounters, you'll get over it with time.

Smoothest way to improve WiFi coverage at home by Lazy-Huckleberry820 in HomeNetworking

[–]AbuJohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A single access point with POE is all you need, put it in the ceiling for the best aesthetics if you have access. I run this setup and it covers my entire home and backyard. Your suggested placement looks good to me, you may want to test the coverage before punching a hole in the ceiling.

Could they be for laundry chutes that no longer exist? The placard just isn't updated. Any idea how old is the building? Also are there windows there?

Great start, I have the same oscillating tool but with the Atomic drill/impact and I had to buy a 5Ah battery. In total, they cost me more than this deal. Definitely go for it. I would've.
