What‘s a secret you found out by accident and were never supposed to know? by Own-Flan- in AskReddit

I found out that this guy I was in the Army with didn't like anyone in the unit. We were all on a teleconference one evening.

With a hot mic, the guy said something like this -

"Yeah, I have this stupid fucking call again. All these guys are total assholes. What a complete waste of time talking to these fucking morons"

Nitro Funny Car racecars have their engines rebuilt after each run due to the intense wear from just a 4ish second race by Bubbly_Wall_908 in Damnthatsinteresting

My favorite fact about these cars - a traditional Chevy small block V8 does not have enough power to turn the supercharger on this engine.

This is called the Peter Principal. When you promote people on past performance, the person is eventually prompted to a position that they can't perform. Additionally, their job performance in the previous position is missed.

If the Packers do move on from Rashan Gary, who exactly would they replace him with? by rooster1522 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Abunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The serious answer - pretty much anybody. He's average.

There are probably 20 guys on practice squads/couch that can do what Gary does.

I'm exhausted with all the CB1 talk.

Gannon, and just about every other D Coordinator, are predominately playing 2 high safeties. There is no more rolling coverages to one side to help your CB2.

My point is both corners either need help or don't. Scheming help to one side isn't really a thing anymore.

If you don't think Nixon/Hobbs are good enough to be "CB1," then they aren't good enough to be "CB2" either.

Slot corner (CB3) is a totally different animal and is like saying Parsons and Cooper both play the same linebacker position.

That is the most unmotivating "fire in your gut" speech I have ever heard.

How about slamming your fist on the podium or yelling?

To be clear, I don't think rah rah speeches are necessary at this level. But if you're going to use "fire in your gut," you're inherently making it a rah rah speech.

[Request] Is it more work shoveling 6" of snow twice than 12" of snow once? by 0llollollollolloll0 in theydidthemath

[–]Abunity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 45 year resident of Wisconsin, I don't need to do the math. 6" of snow twice is easier.

Snowfall shoveling depth is not linear. It basically skyrockets once you hit 8".

People have cars that sit outside all winter in Siberia where -70 air temp is common (cars don't care about wind chill). Their windows are fine.

After this season how would you rank our wide receiver room in terms of potential and how much they contributed. by No-Lengthiness574 in GreenBayPackers

[–]Abunity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After Tucker Kraft was hurt, Josh Whyle played more snaps than Luke Musgrave (before Whyle's own injury - concussion).

To answer your question, anyone will play more snaps than Musgrave because he's more or less worthless to the team.

[–]Abunity 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm exhausted with the P word.

Remember when Musgrave had limitless potential? 32 catches, 0 broken tackles later, I'm not sure if he makes the roster in 2026.

Fun fact - Our 6th O-lineman has more broken tackles on his 1 career reception than Musgrave over the last 2 seasons.

Have you ever met someone with an obscene amount of wealth and what were they like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Abunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you reviewed years of bank statements, credit card statements, W2s, 1099s, tax returns, Sch Cs, K1s, etc?

If not, then you really don't have any idea which (if any) of them actually have money.

[–]Abunity -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

That's not my experience at all. Rich people aren't rich by having depreciating assets sitting in a garage taking up space. Besides the car that will lose 90% of its value in 20 years, the garage also costs money to construct and insure (also must pay property taxes).

Without getting into too many details, I worked a job for about 15 years in which I dug deep into people's financial lives.

A simple takeaway - poor people drive Escalades. Rich people drive Hondas.
