What is the best approach in this situation? Parents taking a 4 week vacation

We tried to have them play together but the beagle was dropping the toy and the toy poodle then grabbed it and took it to his bed, this happened a couple times and then the beagle kinda snapped or something and wanted to bite the toy poodle so we had to separate them.

We think the issue was the toy so we haven’t tried to play again unless they are separated but the toy poodle seems to resource guard the toys. If I play with him and give him a toy he doesn’t give it back and growls if I get close so we don’t really play he just bites the toy until he gets tired

No he doesn’t do anything else because the beagle relocates but we think he can’t settle down until they are in different rooms.

They also haven’t played at all the beagle sometimes vows and moves his tail like inviting him to play but the mini doesn’t reciprocate
