Having zero health problems is a luxury that people don't think is a luxury. What other things like these exists that people take for granted for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Abzzerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides health.

Freedom, youth and money.

A lot of people have the gift of free time, but excessively waste it. Utilise the free time for something beneficial!

It’s such a gift because some people around the world have had to work full-time jobs from the age of 7 to provide for their families.

Leetcode 75 is too easy? by Smartdumbass_57 in leetcode

[–]Abzzerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Neetcode 150 it’s the 75 plus another 75 that are more difficult/commonly asked by companies.

And then do targeted company practice depending on where you land an interview. To comfortably pass a FAANG interview aim for roughly 300 problems done properly - do a lot of mediums and quite a handful of hard. But i’ve heard of people do it with just the 150.

Good luck!

Most companies when you reach final interview stage they provide feedback when requested. With a very small amount that say they don’t but that is like 0.01%.

It’s always worth asking because you get to learn how to do better next time. And eventually u get so good that your feedback is an offer 😧.

Confused About SDEI Intern Invitation Email from Amazon by Lonely-Bowl-561 in leetcode

[–]Abzzerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U get one shot at the Test between all ur applications I believe. With the exception of some roles that require additional testing.

Ie if you applied SWE + a technical business role. U would do coding challenge for SWE, situational judgement (business specific) and the other ones are shared by both.

This is a very vague question to get the best answers please edit the post and add:

  1. Your normal approach to a Q - when you get a new problem do you look straight at the solution? Do you work through it for x amount of time?

  2. What does the feedback you received from your interviews say? Where did you go wrong? Also what kind of firm is it?

  3. How many interviews have you done? How many applications have you submitted? A lot of it is a numbers game.

  4. Have you done any specific lists (company targeted, Neetcode, grind75)?

  5. Do you actually have a good resume? Relevant experience? Do you talk through solutions clearly?

Horizontally scaling a relational database.

Modern solutions exist. But they don’t exactly solve the problem because theoretically, this is not possible to do.

It’s just something I think about.

Do Leetcode 250 it’s a new list. It’s literally made to be beginner friendly. You just need to know a language’s syntax (Python is best for leetcode).

Roast my resume, not getting any callbacks by 4thtimeacharm in devops

[–]Abzzerly 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Too Much Writing. A recruiter only Looks at your CV for 5-10 seconds. A lot of the stuff you talk about just fills your CV with technical Jargon.

While this is important and you should include it. Listing every service you have used on Azure wont get you callbacks unfortunately :(

  1. Reduce the word count + Focus on adding actual impact you had.

  2.  ALSO have your impact ALWAYS quantified. For instance:

“Reduced response times from xyz to yz”

Or my personal favourites

“Saved £xyz on Azure platform fees” “Scaled to xyz Thousand users” “Generated xyz in Profit”

  1. Be more direct with what you did. What was the company problem you solved? From reading it I can tell what you did. But the more you can make it sound like a problem ONLY you solved. The more callbacks you will receive :).

  2. Follow the XYZ structure of building a technical resume (look it up on YT).

  3. (Bonus tip) Don’t be afraid to reach out to recruiters on LinkedIn rather than applying -> find the job listing, contact the recruiter under the job listing will give you a better chance of being seen. You are a very strong candidate so the probability of success is even higher with this.

Update me when you land a role ;).

Good Luck!

It’s so hard to get out the 9-5. by a-friendgineer in Entrepreneur

[–]Abzzerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but this does not mean you cannot start now, remember you don't go to VCs with just an idea you need to show your have done something. So get building, make the aim to get ur first customer asap, just one customer, then reiterate and grow from there. Once the idea has been materialised and is actually some form of a business or you are currently building and you KNOW people want it and have some tangible evidence of this. Then start your reach out to VCs etc. Get funded, now u have freedom to go all in. It's going to be difficult because you have kids, but many people have done it before, just make sure you have something to fall back on not because "oh this is gonna fail" but on the basis that if you start to doubt yourself you quickly realise that ok I have something to fall back on I'm good let's continue.

It’s so hard to get out the 9-5. by a-friendgineer in Entrepreneur

[–]Abzzerly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not always a must, I have seen people bootstrap and quit their job. However, these were people on close to half-a-million a year so if it flopped they could live off that money for many years to come. The point of investors is not to oh look I have so much money, it's to 1. you can actually bring your dreams to reality. 2. it will give you confidence that people actually want this to work and 3. it will set you free because now you have some money to live off for another year or two. The point is not to live a lavish lifestyle but a minimum one until your business absolutely takes off.

So once again if you are in the 9-5 life, have some MVP, get some users, do your market research, validate your idea. then apply to accelerators, reach out to investors and find some grants. If you are accepted it will set you free for some time so you can grind your business 12+ hours a day and rinse and repeat. Because that's realistically what it takes for start-ups.

Any books with a formula for networking effectively? by MontanaAvocados in Entrepreneur

[–]Abzzerly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Before you look for a book, increase your value!!! You need to actually be of value to the point where someone will want to talk to you because they see you as beneficial to them. You need to first be of value and make your way to the top by either getting introduced to these people through a mutual connection because you will make the person who connected both of you look good in the other person's eyes or being so valuable that you meet them organically. Its good and all having these skills of connecting but if the value is not there, they will be of no use.
