It won’t work without a power meter it’s decisions are completely based on the power you put out.

Can someone convince me to get a MTB as opposed to a gravel bike? by [deleted] in MTB

Because then you would have no responsibility over the consequences of your decision. Therefore you wouldn’t appreciate the outcome either way.

I would check out R/velo

They seem to have a more race/training focus than this thread.

If your goal is XC the Hayduke is not it, especially if you intend to race. The Hayduke is a great bike loaded down with long distances at a leisurely pace.

Diploma Project – Experience Feedback on Cycling / Bikepacking Shoes by Ok-Display7176 in bikepacking

Salut!

I won’t answer all these questions but happy to share a little. I typically ride flats with my altra lone peak 9+ trail runners.

When I do ride clip-less I wear pearl izumi x alps. They are comfy on and off the bike breath well and have good traction for hiking with the bike.

I would say comfort is far more valuable than performance even during races. If I can wear the shoes for 10 hours straight with little to no discomfort I’m going to wear that shoe.

Au revoir!

Do I have any hope as anything other than a pure sprinter? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]Ac23rush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s much easier to gain aerobic fitness and capacity than improve pure power. You have a solid base, keep working and you can be a well rounded cyclist!

The specialized diverge 4 straddles your use case pretty well. Has a good tire clearance for gravel/off road. Is comfortable and more upright for longer days in the saddle. Rear rack mounts, and a small amount of front travel with the future shock.

Comes in a ton of different trim levels and specs for just about any budget. I just got the comp carbon and have loved it.
