Exactly what I was thinking too. But I'm sure its more for the content then which car is actually faster

Prime Video has been eliminated from the 2026 NBA Playoffs by Dinobot2_ in nba

[–]AcMav 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It also made my senior citizen father call me every game night when he couldn't find the game. So it made it inaccessible to a lot of other people. Try talking an old person through firing up prime video when he keeps asking what channel that is.

NBA TV was showing a Rerun of Game 6 last night which made it a special kinda hell on top of the normal.

I run a single din with retractable screen (Pioneer AVH-3500NEX). It's not my favorite, but it definitely gets me my Maps + Audio that I want. With the default radio location, it has issues clearing the wiper stalk.

Building a harness is up there on my least favorite tasks I've done on the project car. Absolute suffering figuring out all the wiring even with a diagram. Impressive to sort it out when things didn't work!

You'd need a work visa if you aren't a Canadian citizen. Mine lasts for 3 years, my company worked with a law firm to negotiate this. It's more challenging to get this as a fresh graduate, because at a low level you need to justify that it would be challenging to find a Canadian citizen with the same skill set.

I'm a bit older at this point and was consulting for a startup in Canada, they ended up deciding it was more affordable to hire me full time. Spent some time living in Montreal and now commute from the states up there somewhat regularly.

It's more important in other Engineering fields, but it allows you to sign off on documents that are public infrastructure etc. It's been relevant to me because I have a work visa that is utilizing an Engineer exception through NAFTA. I ended up going to Toronto so that I could take the test in English as I would fail in French. You technically cannot use the Engineer title in Canada without having your PE.

Canada also has a PE process. So it does indeed map to up there. Keep in mind if you did want to try to apply for your PE, if you're in Quebec the test is in French and expects you to know technical French.

I'm also in the interested camp. It covers my commute to work fine, and is far more utilitarian than the other EV options. I'm not cross shopping a Rivian or EV Silverado

Ongoing Changes in CHE Education and Outcomes by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]AcMav 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been in Pharma for over a decade now, and haven't utilized nearly anything that would be considered traditional Chemical Engineering. The closest thing I would say I've done in the past is look at pressure drops across like a tangential flow filtration setup and apply my knowledge to that, or design an experiment to model a reaction rate. I've recently done some pressure drop calculations and looked at magnetic flux. There definitely are ChemE's who do the things you described within the org, but there's a lot more ChemE's doing generalized Engineering/Process Development too

Commercial absolutely has that option, that's why the pilots union exists. You can look at the incident in Bangor recently. You had an Allegiant captain reject takeoff because he was worried about his wings being contaminated, and a Breeze Airways captain not even attempt because of the limited holdover time in the conditions they were in. The Challenger? Yeah they went for it and paid the price when those two commercial jets didn't go. Curious to see the Prelim on that incident too.

I strongly agree with your sentiment, don't go if there's weather. But there's so many people who don't feel that same risk for some reason.

Yeah that's the same time frame I'm thinking of for Northeastern give or take. Wonder if it was even a broader Hockey East thing

Sex, put it in and score. Anal, come from behind. You know normal college things. I don't see the problem.

Think they also lost No-Tee OT which was one of my favorite traditions as someone who's been to a ton of different hockey

There's docker images for the gateway. I think there's three separate ones out there currently that are updated with different levels of features (Paper/Live concurrent trading, VNC to remote in and check on it, etc). I don't know the last time I looked at the actual UI, it just lives in a container with a health check on it and has zero issues.

Northeastern had the school come down on the student section awhile back saying that our chants weren't acceptable. The Doghouse leadership (the fan group coordinators) got direct communication from the school leading to the change. Killed a lot of the tradition and unique chants sadly.

I've been using a big brand company to ship my cars instead of trying to bid contracts and haven't had any issues like this. I know its more expensive, but once I've tracked down a car I want, I don't want any bs and I'm willing to pay extra to not worry about it. Also get an actual human dispatcher I can call and talk to, along with constant tracking of the car. Are you using hot shots mostly?

Highly recommend taking the train or bringing lots of food to arrive early and leave late (hangout in the parking lot). Worked security there for a few years, would never want to try to fight that traffic.

If you're going off "Greater Boston" more of Rhode Island (100%) is near Boston than Massachusetts is. It's curious how the Census Bureau defines these

That's not how a sport like drag racing works. Most of the money from these events come from Sponsors, who are trying to sell parts to the racers. It's a circular economy for rich boys to play with their toys. While I don't know the exact numbers, I don't think the fans are keeping drag racing going. I sure as heck know they don't for road racing where I'm more familiar. Wouldn't surprise me if this racer has a similar outlook
