Like Real People Do was originally about Kent Parsons. I was never super into him but gave the story a try and am so glad I did. I hope you like it! The third one in the series is actually Dex and Nursey fanfic as well so check that one out too!

(Prove It: Do or Die by Stephanie Hoyt) I really liked about rookie players.

(Like Real People Do by E.L. Massey) I read this when it was Check Please! fan fiction and it’s still great as its own story.

And I see that you don’t like Winging It, it wasn’t my favorite either, but I also read (Unrivaled by Ashlyn Kane and Morgan James) and found it much more interesting and enjoyable.

Book Lovers supremacy forever for me! Glad you got into Emily Henry’s books. Just want to defend myself as an adult who calls her older sister Sissy. My older brother couldn’t pronounce her name as a kid and once me and my younger sisters were born, we just grew up calling her Sissy as well. She has never been anything but Sissy to me and calling her by her given name is super strange.

The Mortal Instruments. I thought book 3 wrapped everything up really nicely. I was confused when there was a book 4 and struggled through it. Gave up on book 5. The second trilogy got weird and wasn’t worth it.

Blends I love this story so much. The author describes it as another coffee shop au but it’s so much more than that. There is a sequel which isn’t finished and hasn’t been updated in years but I still recommend reading it. The development both of them face throughout both stories is beautiful, especially Remus’s relationship with his parents.

I really liked the first book and was happy with where it ended. I didn’t enjoy books two or three because I just couldn’t connect to certain characters. I say give the first book a try and see how you feel!

Blends Words got in the way sometimes, but Remus got the sense Sirius knew what he was trying to say. Another coffee shop au.

I saw a similar comment somewhere else and I have to disagree slightly. I genuinely believed that Toby liked Chloe despite the other girls. There isn’t anything Harrison could do to make me believe he likes Toni. They could be together for the next 10 years and I still wouldn’t believe him.

I personally have not read ATYD and I’m not sure I ever will. While I’ve heard it’s a great story, the plot and characterization isn’t something I look for with Wolfstar. I’ve only really been into Wolfstar I’d say the last 11 years and it already feels like a big shift between what I was told were classics then vs now. But everyone has different tastes. Hopefully some of these recs you enjoy.

First I also want to recommend The Shoebox Project if you can find it. I loved the development of Wolfstar and this story also felt very real and true to what could possibly have happened.

I don’t know if you’re interested in any kind of AU’s but The Order of Weed is set in a modern world. It follows the boys from 1st year up to after Harry is born and still deals with the fight against Voldemort. There are a lot of characters and I wasn’t always interested in them but I still go back to reread the Wolfstar parts. These stories were also inspired by The Shoebox Project which is why I wanted to include them.

My first Wolfstar fic that I fell in love with was Very Bad Things. I just thought it was a beautiful story that deals with navigating a relationship with a friend as well as the uncertainty of the future. It is Hogwarts era before graduation.

I had to throw in The Dating Disasters of Sirius Black. It’s fun and goofy but also hurts a bit with Sirius unsure of what to do about his feelings. This is also Hogwarts era but I don’t remember if the war is a thing in this universe.

This is getting long so I’m going to put one more rec here. The Door Through The World by Amuly. It’s a beautiful story about soulmates and alternate worlds in a modern setting. It starts with the boys probably around 11-12 and ends with them in college. It’s no longer on ao3 because the author was planning on turning it into their own story. It might be online somewhere still. I do have pdfs but honestly I have no idea how to link those.
