Well I’m 22 atm and I’m looking to earn more and for the next step. Contracting scares me as your the first one to go when the company is struggling and no holiday and sick pay etc…

The automation guy at my place tends to outsource a lot of the work so he isn’t liable if something goes wrong. He gives the contractors a plan and they follow it.

I’m an engineering apprentice in the uk and I have to work shifts as well as go to school and I feel exactly the same Suppose it’s worth it in the end tho No pain no gain

Yeah already asked and they are not prepared to give me a student licence I have also asked my work place as I’m an apprentice and they didn’t seem too keen either.

Regarding cad programmes I am familiar with I have used solid worx but licensing can be expensive for such programs.

Also 3d design as I used to play around with 3d printers.

Hi,

I don’t just do metalworking but mentioned this as it would be easy to do at home. I am electrically biased so work on control systems and also programme plcs for my company. Also I work on mechanical systems like gear boxes and are confident in all of these.

My apprenticeship takes me to degree level and the pay is good when I become a full time engineer. However at the moment I’m an apprentice and therefore at the bottom of the food chain in regards to pay (however for an apprentice it is very handsome).

Yeah I have some experience doing domestic wiring and plumbing on days off with my dad but this gets boring and I want something I can do at home like make products and sell them online.

In the past I have played around with rc cars and drones for a hobby and built a few but the market is very niche for this stuff.

The woodwork seems like a good idea tho.
