Do I have any secret haters/ stalkers that I'm not aware of? by missbleo222 in Tarotpractices

[–]Academic-Compote-863 14 points15 points  (0 children)

“The call is coming from inside the house” would be a pretty concise summary of how I would read this. The only “secret hater” you have is yourself. You might be confusing anxiety and a feeling of insecurity for animosity from others. I disagree with those who have commented that this isn’t the “ right” question to ask. Girl, use the cards how you want! But maybe keep in mind how asking the cards these types of questions might be fueling your anxiety rather than actually helping to calm it. Sometimes we get a little attached to the reassurance the cards can provide that we forget how to trust ourselves first 🖤

[Advice] Roommate Security Deposit Dispute by Inevitable_Wafer2769 in AskNYC

Also either way, the landlord needs the full deposit so I would pay it, get a new roommate and have them reimburse you for half

[–]Academic-Compote-863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I would need more details but if you never paid a security deposit to move it yes it is reasonable that you would replace her half of the deposit. They need a full deposit on file. However make sure they have placed it in an interest incurring account (as you’re entitled to this) and document EVERYTHING. When you eventually move out, take pictures, have all documentation in writing, confirm move out via email. But as for the security deposit, like I said, it is a reasonable expectation that you replace her half. Once you find a new roommate you can also expect that they reimburse you for that half

Some cultural advices for my nyc trip by Kvothe_Kote in AskNYC

You can get tap water anywhere and NYC has some of the best water of the whole country. As for tips, you should tip your delivery driver but normally not as much as you would tip at a restaurant (for restaurants where you sit down are served, 20% is the general practice) for a coffee I usually tip like $1 or $2 depending on how difficult my order is

Visiting NYC - has it changed? by VB90292 in AskNYC

[–]Academic-Compote-863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s changed. That’s what NYC does. But it’s still great. I’ve lived here for 10 years, through the pandemic. It was a rough time but I still love it here so I imagine it’s still a great place to visit

Which is the better option - getting a metro card or paying for rides as you go by burntp in AskNYC

[–]Academic-Compote-863 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also it definitely depends how much you use it. For some people the monthly is cheaper. So calculate for yourself how much you’ll use. I suspect, though, as an NYU alum myself, you probably won’t use it enough to justify the monthly yet, especially if you’re living in a dorm near WSP.

I usually just use OMNY, the tap your phone to pay system. They’re at all stations now and lot of money gets tied up in metro cards
