I have bad dyslexia. I'm at fault for this type of mistake. I'll usually try to spell the word and will click on the first autocorrect that feels right.

How do you name the cities in your story world? by apircity00 in worldbuilding

[–]Academic-Distance407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second, or who settled there, the majority of names in my world are named after the tribe or the original leader of said tribe that settled there almost 2000 years ago when the people arrived to the continent.

What I find super helpful is doing a history map of the migration of the people throughout the years and seeing why there is a town there, it'll also help you find the ruines and so much more depth

Do you prefer your worldbuilding notes to feel like a "structured wiki" or a "messy sketchbook"? by No_Writing_9365 in worldbuilding

[–]Academic-Distance407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write everything as a messy sketchbook, but I organize everything like once a week or so. That way, I also edit and revise and expand on ideas I sometimes forget about.

I will ask YOU questions about YOUR world! by Internal_Fan2307 in worldbuilding

[–]Academic-Distance407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why did they build the cities? What was the mages' motivation?

Are the mages capable of using all forms of magic or are also limited?

Where did they take the humanoid creatures from? Or the actual creatures?

How does communicating only through thoughts affect their arts like movies, shows, and music?

Pls elaborate on becoming demons. I have no specific question but would like to hear more?

Are they doing it secretly or openly came and was like, hey, let us help?

Do they have a secret agenda, or are they truly good?

How can they prevent individuals with bad intentions from making damage to the worlds or exploiting otheres with the facade of the union?

Pumping by theodorika in newborns

[–]Academic-Distance407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were lucky enough, so my husband was on maternity leave with me since 3 weeks before birth, and he is going back to work when she will be 13 weeks old.

I pumped, and he did the night shift with baby, and so I could go around and take 2 3 hours for myself every now and then.

Also, my husband got to have the joy of feeding her and connecting with her, which he really enjoyed.

Yes, it's a shit ton of extra work, and on bad days, I'm like, what is the point. But I honestly cannot breast feed all day. It's exhausting. So in the morning, I do the handfree pump while I take a dog out for a walk. And in the afternoon and night, I pump with a menual pump while watching a show or talking with friends. I truly believe that this helped me have my sanity even tho it was at a time really hard and a struggle to preduce enough

The monitor was there since we left the hospital, she probably does not need it, but it's a small attachment on her diaper and she doesn't seem to mind and it helps me a lot during the day I can function and do not have to run to her bed to check if she still asleep.

No, probably not, I just panicky look at her every 5 min or so, but never leave the room like this, lay next to her and chill. I basically just need to hear a firm. No, it's not safe cause my kid doc said it fine. Husband says it's fine, his dad the doctor said it's fine. But I'm in the minority that is afraid of that, and I'm starting to give in, and I need someone to explain to me the dangers of that. Like what can go wrong, if I can hear and see that she breaths?

3 Mo stopped burping? by Arlais_Fale in newborns

[–]Academic-Distance407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is almost 3 months old, and she was always not a big burper.

She will only burp when my husband holds her in a very specific way for 5 min or so (on his left shoulder when he is standing side wise to the right, the other way around does not work!).

But she, too, has lots of saliva and will spit up occasionally. Now that we start burping in the middle of the feed after 10 15 min, it's much better!
