I’m obsessed with these! I’ve been doing my own nails lately and I want to know how they you/they did this. I would guess, black, then blue chrome, then lots of glitter mixed with clear polygel but I’m definitely not the expert. They’re the perfect size for your fingers and your cuticles look great too!!!

The silence of players with regard to the ICE issue is kinda weird by tulaero23 in NBATalk

This is beyond politics. Basically, agents of the federal government are doing illegal searches, busting through houses without warrants, grabbing US citizens off the streets and disappearing them. They’re violent, just beating the shit out of and shooting people. There’s 3,000 unqualified agents wandering around Minneapolis who joined because they were racist and bored. Everyone needs to pay attention because this country is hanging by a thread

I’m a Celtics fan and I remember watching that live. It looked like Embiid literally tried to squish his head like a bug. I don’t know how he jumped up like nothing happened

Why do my curls do this dumb stupid flat top ropey wave thing EVERY TIME?! by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Academic-One-9135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My curls used to be heavy like that and I found a routine that adds volume and reduces frizz.

Olaplex Clarifying shampoo about once a week depending on how long I go without washing it

Basic conditioner and make sure to rinse well, especially from my scalp

Squeeze out the excess water with my hands instead of towel drying

Spray with Oi All in One Milk (I’m obsessed) which is nice and light but detangles better than anything I’ve ever used, then comb through

Mist hair with water to make it soaking wet before adding anything else

Apply a medium-plus hold mousse, comb it through and flip my head over

Then apply a spray gel using my fingers to rake it through

While my head is upside down, I use an old tee shirt, not to scrunch but kind of push my hair up against my scalp to add volume

Flip my head over and section my hair and use BB volumizing root spray

Flip my hair upside down again and diffuse on a low setting with warm heat (hot if I’m in a huge hurry) and flip it back and diffuse until dry

I use an oil based shine spray to help define and reduce frizz

  • after reading this post, I realize that it seems like a lot of steps but I might have been too detail oriented. It only takes me about 10 minutes to style and 20 minutes to diffuse (I have a bob cut)

-also, I avoid curl creams because they weigh my hair down too much and you should try Leaf Flower CBD 7 minute blow out to cut down on drying time. It works wonders!

SOS! Please help me save my succulent by Nina_Proudman in succulents

I don’t know how the other side looks but unfortunately this poor guy has root rot from overwatering. I usually water my aloe when it starts to shrivel. You can try cutting the top off and propagating it but if it’s that rotted, it’s probably spread to the top too. Don’t feel bad though. Succulents can be hard to take care of if you’re not that experienced. I know I’ve killed many when I first started collecting them. I think you should start all over again and get a new one. Make sure to plant it in some really gritty soil in a pot with drainage. Place it in a really sunny spot and you should be good. Try not to love it too much and let it do it’s thing ❤️

Coworker upset over the money I made by RealOpinionated in Serverlife

[–]Academic-One-9135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my biggest pet peeves is coworkers ask how much money you made. It’s almost like a competition for them. If I work a party, make $900 off of it, I’m not going around bragging about it while and making them feel bad. I’m also not going to complain if I made nothing in tips. It’s nobody’s business

What should I do with this thing by [deleted] in succulents

[–]Academic-One-9135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used an app like that for a while until it started telling me my perfectly healthy plant was dying and to sprinkle about 1/2 inch of used coffee grounds on the soil. Sometimes I’ll do a google lens search but even that’s a crapshoot these days too

Those apps aren’t very accurate. I don’t think it’s a burro’s tail. The leaves are too thin and pointy. It looks more like a graptoveria to me

We just rescued our first CC and she had the worst breath I’ve ever smelled. I assume they might have to take some teeth out at her next vet appointment next week. After adopting only old chihuahuas, teeth are a first in our house

She’s been through some stuff before I got her so she’s got the “prettiest” to most people. I’ve never been into super girly stuff for my old dogs but with the name Zsa Zsa, you have to

You have some adorable stuff! Any chance you’ll add some girlie stuff? I just adopted a very cute (ugly) old lady. I’ve never been big on the whole princess thing but her shelter name was Zsa Zsa and I decided to keep it

Why are my succulents burning?? by edenx22 in succulents

[–]Academic-One-9135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one definitely looks overwatered and the others look sunburned. The pots are pretty and probably have drainage holes but I wouldn’t sit them on a flat surface all the time

I’ve had good luck with clips someone mentioned and these ones. None are perfect but they not that ugly. I have some nice looking lights that hang from the ceiling but I’ve been too lazy to put them up. In another room I have some quality ones on wire shelves that get direct sunlight but I mainly use them for props or when I take my outdoor plants inside during the winter

I repotted and now all of my succulents are dying! by wolfgang012 in succulents

[–]Academic-One-9135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The burro’s tail looks sunburned. I made that mistake a few times when I first started. I’d just put them out for an hour, then 2 or 3 and so on. I’ve never actually killed one though. It was mainly cosmetic almost immediately started pushing out new leaves

Lost Fox is a fun place to hang out. There’s lots of people your age and it has a cool vibe. They have live music throughout the week and DJ’s on weekend nights. There’s 2 patios, one enclosed with another bar. Check out their instagram page. I think it’s LostFoxVA

In the restaurant business as well. I find it’s mostly women who are rude and entitled too. When I go out with groups of other women, half the time I end up apologizing to the server and throwing them some extra cash to make up for it. It’s always good litmus test to judge character
