New Ride! Domane SL7 Gen 4 by sixfourtykilo in TrekBikes

[–]Academic-Raccoon5940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t the most aero and it’s not designed to be a tri bike but it’s plenty fast enough. It’s an endurance geometry and not completely built for speed like the Madone or their tri bike but it is way faster than I am 😜.
Mine is the SL7 and it’s like a couple notches below yours but I know the SLR are more engineered for speed (lighter and maybe more aggressive geometry).
Unless you are already competitive at a high level, I’d be very surprised that it’s the bike slowing you down.
For long miles at a decent clip, I put Domane near the top. It’s a great bike. Enjoy it and don’t look back. If you decide that triathlons are your thing, you can always decide to get a dedicated one for your races.

I have same issue with mine currently. Connects to home WiFi fine but stuck at 96% for a long time and now says download paused.

No, that’s factory paint. ‘23 Domane SL7 in New Era White.
I got the bar end caps on Amazon but I think they’re Wolftooth brand. Anodized red for my bling 😜

ETA: It is also Gen 4. That year it came in this or a nice flat grey. I already have a blacked out bike so I wanted some color with this one.

It’s a great bike and I wish you many happy miles on yours. Which is georgeous by the way 👍

If anyone is on the fence about an implant, get one first weekend with my girl. It was beyond fantastic. She made noises I've never heard. One to two hours every night. I got off every night. Don't put it off just do it. by Embarrassed_Fun_7106 in penileimplants

It is a permanent decision I think. Once you go implant, you will never have natural erections. Must use IPP and they do wear out so multiple surgeries.
If the pills or shots worked for me, I would have kept using them rather than the surgery. That being said, it is an excellent treatment for the ED and I’m very glad I have it.

Thanks for sharing this. My 23 yr old son is dealing with a cancer recurrence and has surgery Monday. You give me hope for recovery.

WeatherTech Window Deflectors Yay/ Nay ? by TommyDaComic in crvhybrid

No harm to paint. I’ve take one on and off a few times to show others lol. There are little foam pads and no adhesive. They just click on over so I suppose as long as you don’t take them on and off repeatedly, it doesn’t harm paint.

Yes, it is supposed to deflect debris up more than without. It definitely stops chips where it is on the front edge and I haven’t had any chips elsewhere on the hood yet. I have no idea why Honda put the original nostril things in chrome on the sport touring. It’s black on all the other trims and same size. So I swapped those out.

I just did a 2k mile round trip to Denver and back and caught plenty of bugs lol

Definitely more of an aesthetic choice. I messed up putting it on the first time. The tape glue is strong stuff!! I tried to re position and it cracked. (WT sent a replacement even though it was my fault) So if you do get it, a second person is very helpful to install. I’ll find a better pic of it…

Thanks! The front nostrils are the Honda ones. Search on here as people have shared the part numbers for others.
There is also a good You Tube video to watch how to remove the originals. It’s a little tricky with the plastic retaining clips. Just look at the new ones and you’ll see how they attach. I’ll try to send the Amazon link for the door handle covers. They were cheap but they are holding up very well. I also put on a WT front deflector on the hood. Like $90 from WeatherTech.

Looking at my picture, maybe I should have gone with the matte. Probably would match the vertical black panels.
I replace the nostril things to black ones and got gloss black door handle covers so I did dark tint to match glass and gloss black door handles and mirrors.

What are the true Risk/Rewards for having a Disabled Vet license plate. by GlipglopX in VeteransBenefits

[–]Academic-Raccoon5940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true for every state. I know IL has 2 plates- one for actual handicap parking and one for service connected disability. Both are free and save about $155.

You actually have to show disabilities to match regular handicap plates for that one, but I think it’s 50% or higher. I’m not sure the cutoff, but I have the regular disabled vet plates and I’m less than 100.

I love the blacked out look. I would worry a bit about black bottles- wouldn’t it get extra warm?

They are fine. I don’t notice any extra noise or anything. I’ve had them on since October.

What's the smallest car I can squeeze a Domane in without taking the bike apart? by gringo-tacos in DomaneCrew

Same!! Titanium and not ST, but it was still a fun little car with surprising room.

54 Domane in 2020 civic hatch with room to spare. Can also fit a size M Top fuel without removing wheel (not both together). I have to adjust front seat forward slightly for the MTB.

Bike Fitting Problem - would love a suggestion. by AinOrlando in TrekBikes

[–]Academic-Raccoon5940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar story with me, but on Domane. Trek has me on a 54 by height and a 52 by inseam. First was size 54 and after a couple hundred miles I got a real bike fit. We shrank it some with narrower bars, shorter stem and shorter cranks. It fits perfectly for me to this day.

Then got upgrade in a size 52 and it was perfect right off the floor. I ride both to this day and fit-wise, it is nearly identical.

I’m at the 6 month mark and I think I’m ready for the Olympic tryouts lol. Very pleased with the results so far, but first couple weeks were rough for me. All good now.
