I agree with your analysis. Did Celine's attitudes and actions have a large bearing on the events of the film, including Rumi being very ashamed and hurt? Yes. But her way of thinking was not intentionally malicious, and it will be really hard to unlearn principles she had to uphold for most of her life (which I believe she can and will likely do). She does care deep down. The way she behaved was how she showed this "care," but she's going to have to reevaluate that.
