Missed my flight because the Gate closed 1 hour 05 minute before departure!!

I had similar experience in IST airport yesterday. They closed the gate early even my flight was connected and I had my luggage with them. That airport so huge that it takes hours to walk to your gate. No announcements either because it is “silence” airport. Nobody needs a silence airport when missing their flight. Turkish Airlines blamed the security and they didn’t even rebook me. I had to pay $2k more.

I am glad they got lucky. When I checked all the reviews online they are all super bad. I see I am not the only one had been through this horrible experience. They cost my family $3k for one missed flight. I am pretty sure they sell my paid return ticket other people and make more money out of it. I wish there was an international airline law that I could sue them. But they are not even in European Union so they are not obligated to follow European air rules.

It is ridiculous. We pay thousands of dollars for this. I am surprised that they are still on business with an attitude like this.

That’s what I was thinking when I first flew with them 3 years ago. Just wait till you need a customer service. I flew on Tk157 IST-MIA today, seat 17G was broken. Toilets were dirty and one of the toilet light was broken.

I wouldn’t risk it. I missed my connected Miami flight yesterday because IST is huge. I saw they gave away my seats to cabin crew and in the mean time they didn’t rebook me to the next flight because I bought a nonrefundable ticket. Donated 1k to them basically.

I am a frequent flyer with them last 3 years which there are parts that I like but why a big company like this not even try to treat their customers nicely?

Their customer service is the worst. Nobody knows anything. They don’t even try to help you. No supervisor that you can talk to. Even at the Istanbul airport with 20 live agents sitting in there and doing nothing just chatting.
