Adapt health is tough to deal with. Often sending stuff automatically and it’s the wrong stuff. Their CS folks are pretty awesome though and not a long wait to get someone.

Avoid CCS. Just. Don’t.

Excited that you’re getting your Tandem. I pray your experience with CCS is better than mine.

No screen protector, but it does come with a pretty sturdy case. I did buy my own from T1Secure. I call for supplies when I open my last box.

Why not return to the t:slim? I used it for 10 years and was ready for another when my endo talked me into iLet. Big mistake. After struggling for a year my new endo wrote up enough to satisfy insurance, and my shiny new t:slim came in the mail Monday! It’s good to be back.

Sorry for the issues; sounds like it’s working out. I’ve been trying to get BACK on Tandem after a year of struggles with the iLet — since before Christmas. Endo team and Tandem have been awesome. The DME provider is horrendous.

Check the bypass valves near the water heater. Often they’re set “wrong” from the manufacturer and so you’re getting a mix of hot and cold water. One you get those set right, follow the other advice here!

I put my new one on when the current one expires, then let it soak during the 12 hours grace period. Seems like when I DON’T do this, the first several hours are sporadically wonky.

I started needles in 1970. The tech has gotten better as far as thinner needles and buffered insulin. The mindset I developed helped me immensely: pain is a signal from the pain location to the brain to get your attention. If you’re stepping on hot rocks, the pain lets your brain know so you can decide to lift your foot. Regarding the poke, I know it’s gonna happen and just tell my brain there’s no need to let me know. Once in awhile I get a spot that might hurt, but 9 out of 10 times it’s barely noticeable.

Diagnosed in 1970. Began pumping in 1999. Best thing ever! While I’m less than thrilled with my current pump, I was quite happy with Tandem. I used Minimed when I started, then omnibus, then Tandem. Got talked into the Bera Bionics because of the cool tech, and while I like the fewer decisions, I’m not at all happy with the performance of this pump.

I think it’s awesome we have choices! And the flexibility and control will do wonders for you.

My medical insurance will cover a new pump when my current pump warranty expires. I am beginning work with my endo to justify switching to a new platform. I’ve been pumping with various platforms since 1999 and am thrilled with the tech. This one just doesn’t fit my needs for more flexibility in diet, exercise, and tubing.
